The Luna Trials By Marissa Gilbert Novels & Stories

Reid said, standing up and pulling me with him so I was forced to stand at his side, his arm still locked around my waist. "We will settle this the old way. We will hold the Luna Trials." A collective gasp rippled through the room. Mira’s fork clattered against her plate. "The Trials?" Luna Selene asked, her eyes narrowing. "Reid, those haven't been invoked in three generations. They are brutal. They are meant to test the limit of a female's strength, cunning, and spirit." "And Mira will participate," Reid continued, his gaze dropping to me, his eyes burning with a dark light. "Along with any other woman who thinks she is fit to lead this pack. Including Rayne."

It pressed against my chest like a dark omen, a heavy weight I couldn’t shake, no matter how hard I tried to steady my breath. The Luna Trial. An ancient law, invoked only in the rarest of circumstances. It was not something that women like me were ever meant to face. The last time the trial had been called, it had ended in tragedy—one woman burned alive in the very arena where I would now stand. It was a trial by fire, and its outcome was as uncertain as the fates of those who had gone before me. To survive it meant claiming the title of Luna, becoming the Alpha’s mate, and wielding power over the pack. But to fail meant death—by the flames that would scorch everything from my skin to my so

"Luna, we sense the darkness within you. Before we can offer our aid, you must prove your worthiness. Only by overcoming a series of trials can you unlock the light within." Luna's determination surged, her heart pounding with anticipation. "I am ready, Guardians. I will face any trial to save myself and protect those I love." The guardians led Luna, Amelia, and Elias through a labyrinthine maze, where challenges awaited at every turn. Luna's latent powers were put to the test as she navigated through illusions, overcame physical obstacles, and faced her deepest fears. With each trial conquered, her connection to the light grew stronger.

Her heels clicked against the floor, the sound sharp enough to cut through the whispers. “The Luna Trials will begin in one week,” she announced, her voice crisp. “All female wolves will participate. Strength, wit and edurance. Each will be tested. Only the strongest will stand.” Gasps filled the room. My stomach dropped. Madison’s eyes found mine instantly, her smile spreading slow and cruel. “Well… this should be interesting.” I looked down, gripping my bag so tight my knuckles went white as Madison smiled. ********************************# The girls' bathroom door slammed hard just as I was rinsing my hand. Madison and Peyton stared at me with a couple of girls. I knew they wouldn't just

They had no idea what they were dealing with. Yes, I texted back. Dig deeper. I want to know everything they’re planning. Every word. Every scheme. Every move. I turned back to the window, staring out at the city below. Somewhere in that darkness, my Luna lay awake, weighed down by fear and whispers she did not deserve. Through the bond, I sent her reassurance. Comfort. The silent promise that I would protect her from everyone trying to use her. The trials would begin soon. Everyone expected them to be fair competition.

He seemed to be waiting for her. Brian gave a singular nod. He looked delectable this morning, per usual. I forced my head to concentrate. Going to sit opposite him, I ignored the tingles spreading through my nerve endings. Cursed mate bond. “I need to know what I'm walking into. What are the Luna trials really?” “You want to… learn?” “You said you'd help. I may not have your heart, Brian, but I'd not like to lose my life as well.” “Violet…”

Luna Alicia asked everyone's opinion. Grandpa Russ whispered something to his wife while Alpha Simon and Luna Alicia looked each other in the eyes. Lyn glanced at the window, blaming herself for not getting close enough to Lauren over the past few days, because if she had, she might have seen clues and signs of Lauren being possessed.

That is one century years ago. I peered back at her in enthusiasm. "The Luna Trials? When is it happening?" I ask. The woman looked at me like I was crazy, "The Luna Trials? What in moon name is that?" I nodded. The Luna Trial was not introduced until the passing of Elena and the defeat of the dark one. In order to balance power, the kingdom was divided into three other sublet with Golden city controlling the center and the Luna Trial implemented in order to rotate power between the most powerful maiden in the kingdoms.

"It's easy. Just present yourself in the main pack house and answer a couple of questions handed to you. Final candidates will be chosen based on your answers. That's it. The Luna Trials will commence once the number of slots have been filled," I hung my head and turned to Emma. There is no use staying to listen anymore. "Can I go?" I asked her through a whisper, feeling downcast as no hope is left for me now. Emma looked at me with concern and nodded. "Here, let me help you," she said. I told her I could go alone but she insisted, in case I run into a vixen whose eyes seems permanently set on me. I knew she was talking about Linda. I sighed, giving up. Emma is just a girl with a heart of go

The first lady whined, but Moira was too confident for her, she came to stand at my front, her hands gently placed on her dress as she gave them a challenging front. I leaned towards Moira and whispered, “who are they?” “They are the Luna's of this pack, their group is referred to as the congregation of Luna's and Alexa is their leader.” Moira pointed at the lady in the middle and I chewed on my lower lip, nodding my head as I took note of them. “Ohh, please pardon our manners my Luna,” Alexa began with a tiny chuckle. “We didn't mean to startle you, we were just so excited to walk into you.” She explained.
