The luna trials Novels & Stories

A murmur rippled through the Council. The gaunt elder’s lips curled. “You wish to prove yourself worthy of being Luna of Darkfang?” “I do,” she said. “Then let the trials begin.” --- The trials were older than any living wolf. Forged in blood, bone, and divine law, they were designed to test a Luna’s strength—physically, mentally, spiritually. Few dared to undergo them. Fewer passed. And even fewer survived all three. Kael had tried to object. He didn’t want Aria to be put through such cruelty. But she silenced him with a look.

He stopped at the front, beside a silver-bound scroll held by one of the elders. I tensed. He didn’t speak right away. He looked out across the dining hall like he could see past skin, right down to bone. When his eyes passed over me, my breath caught for no reason I wanted to admit. Then he spoke. “The Luna Trials will begin in three days.” It hit like a thunderclap. Gasps, whispers, heads turning. My heart thudded once, hard. Someone at a nearby table asked, “He’s actually doing it?” The Luna Trials.

Tamara The next morning, Earth woke me up even earlier than usual. Instead of heading straight to the dirt rings, she led me deep into the quietest part of the woods, and far away from any listening ears. She stopped near a large, fallen tree and turned to face me. The usual ease in her eyes was completely gone. "I promised I would explain the Luna Trials," Earth began, crossing her arms. "Listen carefully, because this might be the only time I'll have to explain it properly. The trials last for three days, and they are designed to test every single thing you are made of."

"Today, we gather in accordance with laws older than any Alpha seated upon these lands. Older than many myths and legends. Older than the dissolution of the united territories into the thirty-one wolf territories that exist today." The screens behind him flicker. Ancient symbols appear across them. Symbols I vaguely recognize from history lessons. The key word being vaguely. "The Luna Trials." A round of cheers and applause passes through the crowd. Mortius waits for it to fade. Then he continues. "For centuries, the Luna Trials have stood as the highest test of character, leadership, sacrifice, and devotion to one's people." "They were not created during times of peace." His voice hardens.

I was excited about the dress. I couldn’t stop smiling, checking it again and again, careful not to let my hands brush the fabric in case I stained it. Then I heard Jezebel’s voice, sweet and smug. “Tracy, your father and I changed the pack’s policy just for you. We want everyone in the castle to witness the most beautiful girl in the pack bond with the Alpha. I want them to know the Luna is my daughter. I want them to bow their heads and worship you—not only because you’ll be Luna, but because they’re lucky a beautiful lady like you agreed to accept them.”

"I live for them." Nyra's eyes shone in the moonlight. "Then let's make it interesting," she said. "Alpha to alpha." "Or Luna to Alpha, if you're feeling brave." Levi moved forward, but I touched his arm. "Let me." "Mabella—" he cautioned. But I was already walking. I could feel the energy shifting. Crescent Moon wolves stiffened up behind me. Seth tilted his head slightly next to Nyra. He wasn't smiling any more. "You want a fight?" I inquired, going into the center of the space between our two packs. "Let's make it official. One-on-one. No claws from your pack; no claws from mine." "You challenge me?" Nyra's voice was amusing, but her body was tense. She didn't underestimate me. Good. "I'm

And tonight, I had dragged him into a lie I hated almost as much as the truth. “Is she settled now?” I asked. His jaw moved slightly before he answered. “Yes.” Silence hummed between us. Aria. The omega I’d last properly noticed years ago, quiet, unobtrusive, a shadow among wolves. Now… Luna in name only. A mask my people needed. A sacrifice I had demanded. Because Crescent Stone must not fracture. Because Selene must be protected — even in her absence. I exhaled slowly. “Good.” He nodded once.

He remains silent, his eyes not leaving mine until he starts to laugh. “You think I will make a deal with you, Zachary? My wife is Luna, one after the moon goddess’s heart. She can give me all the cure I want in the world and you think I will settle for you? Come on man, I thought you were smarter than that. Well” he gestures to my hand where a wound is still bleeding, “you might want to check that, it’s not going to heal. Ir is coated with silver” “What?” “Do not show up at my party uninvited Zachary, do not come in front of my wife and do not even think about her”

Alright, come on man snap out of it. “Luna,” I reply bowing in show of respect. “P-please call me Artemis or Art,” she stutters. I guess I’m not the only one affected. Does she too feel the attraction? We all go to sit down when Logan asks her to cover up, and holy shit she has the most perfectly rounded butt. Goddess Selene forgives me, but you put everything you had into creating your daughter. FUCKKK! Then I noticed these two assholes gawking at her, that soured my mood quick. They both noticed and raised their hands up in surrender.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you for joining me today. Before we jump into things and I answer your questions, I would like to first read off a list of our victims, followed by a moment of silence." I took the next ten minutes to read the names of every slain and injured woman followed by a brief moment of silence. "Thank you. As most, if not all of you are aware, the Luna Games was deactivated due to the presence of a viable rogue attack. In fact, two of the Luna Games participants were confirmed rogues." Loud shouts of displeasure and outrage erupted from the crowd. I held my hand up in an attempt to quiet the crowd. It took several minutes until order was finally resto
