The luna trials Novels & Stories

They called the first trial an environment test, but it was an obvious cull designed to trim most of the participants down to the fittest wolves. That or they wanted to be rid of the women who had come from other packs. Either way, Cassy couldn’t help but wonder why they were attempting to chop the numbers so quickly. Alpha Jason said less than half would likely continue on after the trial, expediting the whole process. A Luna Trial would usually take at least a month, dragged out with parties and visits from other packs, but by the sounds of it, he wanted a Luna at his side within the week.

SUPPLEMENTAL DATA CORRUPTED. ADDENDUM: SUBJECT HAS ATTEMPTED RECONSTRUCTION OF DESIGNATION ELARA-01 APPROXIMATELY 10,473 TIMES. ALL ATTEMPTS FAILED. Lyra's heart stuttered. Ten thousand four hundred seventy-three attempts. Each failure, each reconstruction, each pair of eyes opening without recognition. Each scream.

Expecting a lake of molten lava, I found instead a vast pool of shimmering water. “This is an inactive volcano, the only one of its kind here,” Lumos explained. “Its waters have the ability to reflect the power of the moonlight. During the Final Trial, it will reveal your absolute truth, but only when the power of us, your Elders, are combined. It requires two to unlock the sight.” He pointed toward the bubbling surface. “This tradition isn't just for you. Every Luna chosen by any pack must eventually come here to be laid bare before the Goddess. Go, look.”

"Tonight, you’ll undergo the 3 final trials to become Luna of Blue Moon. These are all ancient tradition for every future Luna... It tests a Luna of resilience, loyalty, and strength." My spine stiffens. "After the day we had?" "Of course." Her eyes glint with satisfaction. "Being a Luna doesn’t come with breaks, dear. And tonight, the pack will see if you're truly fit for the title." I glance at the crowd. The curiosity in their eyes makes my skin crawl. My pulse kicks up. This is exactly what she wanted—me tired, unprepared, and humiliated. 'We won't give up.' my wolf bravely says and I agree.

A round of applause breaks in the crowd, though I can still see some members of the pack shooting me disapproving looks. “The Luna Trials will be held in three months,” Kael says out loud. He then pulls me to his side and picks me up bridal style. With long strides, we get off the stage walking to his room. He places me gently down, and heads towards his drawers, opening it in search of something. His room has a dull feel to it. Curtain drapes are plain black. The walls are painted grey, with a black duvet. He takes time in search of something then walks back to me in the dark.

I sniffled. “You’re the only worthy Luna. You’re going to show them. Now get up.” *** “The Luna Trials,” Evyn’s words echoed my thoughts. Every highly ranked individual in the pack was present to witness what might be my humiliation and the moon goddess’s ultimate rejection of me. Evyn got in because she’s the Alpha’s right hand’s girlfriend. Mom couldn’t make it because Barnette had to be in the hospital for one more night. The Luna Trials were held on the top of Daciana Peak. Of all the places they had to choose, this awful place. However, it was important to the pack

"I understand your feeling. Feeling useless against a fate. So, no, love. You're not pathetic. Each person has their own way to deal with their wound. So do you." She tilted her head, and we stared at each other. "Thank you, Matt. I feel my burden lifted after talking to you." "I'm always here, love, to hear your story. Anything. The good or the bad." --- "There is a Luna Ceremony at Shadow Forest in a week. We can use that to lure them out." I proposed the idea in a discussion the next morning. We had been discussing what kind of false information to provide to our suspect. Oh, we had gotten a confession from Zurin that our suspect's real name was Ryan. Actually, we had the guess, too, as w

The much-anticipated day of the final Trial of the Luna Contest had finally arrived, and the entire pack thrummed with excitement, eager to find out who would be crowned the new Luna. Aliyah, Zaya, and Belinda stood poised and ready, their nerves tight yet their hearts unwavering, bracing themselves for the challenge that lay ahead.

I do not return to the same den I slept in last night. Instead, I follow Impala to his den. My new home. With my new mate. It is a mess inside. "Impala," I say. "You're untidy." He chuckles. "That is why I need a mate." "If you think I am tidying up after you, you are sorely mistaken. Lunas do not tidy." "You're not a luna anymore," he reminds me.

He seemed to be waiting for her. Brian gave a singular nod. He looked delectable this morning, per usual. I forced my head to concentrate. Going to sit opposite him, I ignored the tingles spreading through my nerve endings. Cursed mate bond. “I need to know what I'm walking into. What are the Luna trials really?” “You want to… learn?” “You said you'd help. I may not have your heart, Brian, but I'd not like to lose my life as well.” “Violet…”
