Uncle Zeb says. Uncle Zeb moves his hand across my neck, and I watch as beautiful colors dance through the air. "NOW!" Uncle Jeb screams. Uncle Zeb grabs the amulet when Uncle Jeb screams at him. The amulet illuminates and begins to float off of my neck. It moves around the room as colors escape the amulet. The amulet seems to turn inside out and then moves quickly back to my neck. Uncle Zeb and Uncle Jeb touch my amulet, and something begins to move into my body. I am not burning or hurting as the magic from the amulet spills into my body.

“You think the world would entrust you with something truly dangerous? No, no. What you carried…” She leaned forward, lowering her voice like she was about to share the secrets of the cosmos. Against my better judgment, I leaned in too. “…was beans.” I blinked. “…Beans?” Her palm smacked the table, and she wheezed with laughter, shoulders shaking. “Magic beans! Old things got dumped into a potion that one of the young witches was making, and well, now we have magic beans! The enchantment clings, making them feel grander than they are. A bag of noisy legumes, child, and you thought it was something far grander.”

“I thought it might be a good place to write the spells and everything down? You can use a spell to hide them so that only those you allow to see it can see the spells.” Willow takes the book curiously. It already looks old but in more of a cool, antique way than a dusty attic way. Maybe this will help? Since that day she unlocked everything her mind has been overwhelmed with the amount of information she’s been told: spells, magic, potions, and everything else at that. Maybe writing them down will free her mind slightly?

People scream and scurry away in fear, they are right to fear me, I am too angry to show mercy right now. I skim through and to my dismay, find nothing. “Not a single mention,” I mutter under my breath. I shouldn’t have expected to find much. I take a deep breath and begin to peruse again. All the books have little to no mention of mages. Not a lot of things have been written. ‘As if they will keep a record of a monster,’ Ruelle sneers suddenly, irked. I let out a heavy sigh.

The girl answered. It sounded strange this girl couldn't be over 100 years old and how did she know Tara's name but Tara didn't really care anymore. The book, the shop and especially the girl were losing their creepiness and becoming much more exciting. Magick and it's dark secrets were something Tara had never even thought about before but now they were laid before her and Tara wanted to be part of it. "I want to learn it all." Tara said, letting a big smile cross her face. "You will my apprentice." Jezebel said as she lent towards Tara.

“I’d be doing a terrible job if I let everyone’s grubby fingers all over it. The magiks around it preserve the book but still allow it to be read.” “Amazing,” I said as she gently floated the book towards me. I lifted my hand as if to pull back the cover and the hazy purple shadows did it for me. I blinked in response. Magiks were still so new to me. The librarian clearly noticed. “Your family doesn’t use much high magiks, do they?” I shook my head. “Not while I was around, at least.” The librarian hummed. Then, she swiped her hand over the book. Instantly, all of the strange symbols and letters on the first page shifted and became plain English. I looked up at her and she smiled.
