There was no need for him to add his brand new wife to the list. She needed to focus. This man was a villain. He had been the head of a notorious ring of aristocrats that had treated commoners like garbage. She had researched him and his family, she knew all about their crimes. He had only turned everyone in to save his own skin. He wouldn’t trick her. She would watch him. She was sure that he would go back to his old ways, and when that happened she would promptly turn him in. She was sure the king would annul their marriage when that happened.

I had never imagined Chad would be such a jerk. When Chad and his friend laughed at Annika, I was indignant. I rushed over to cover his mouth, not realizing how pale Annika looked. She fumbled, desperately wanting to run, and eventually tripped and fell into the swimming pool. Nathan saved her, and it became a classic tale of the prince saving the ordinary girl, just like in many romantic stories. People loved to read these kinds of stories. As the couple's story gained popularity on campus, it became evident that it needed a villain, a malicious character who would bully Cinderella and try to steal her prince away. I was perfect for that role.

A story may exist without a particular hero (protagonist) ,but a story cannot exist without a good villain. The villain is always the main character. The main show. All a hero does is give the story a satisfying, not-tragic ending. But what's the fun in that? In fact, some heroes are actually villains in some people's lives. Villains are just heroes with a broken heart.

And guess what, I am here to take revenge Janice, for what you did to me." He walked towards me in slow dangerous step. He smirked, his eyes gleaming with evil. "You should go into hiding, Janice... because you are about to become a character in my own book. PS: It's Horror with a slice of sex."

I was simply playing my role in a larger scheme, and her emotions were proof of my success in manipulating her. “Well, Dahlia,” I said, my tone gentle, “I’m glad you’re excited. I just wanted to make sure you had a memorable holiday. I’ll ensure everything is perfect.” As Dahlia’s eyes shimmered with gratitude, I felt a fleeting pang of guilt—though it was quickly overshadowed by my satisfaction. I was using her as a pawn in my revenge, and every step of the plan was falling into place.
