The Marriage Pact Novel Novels & Stories

I wished time could halt, granting us an eternity of joyous moments. When she hid, I sought. I vowed never to let her slip away again, not in this life or a million, billion, or gazillion years. My love for Aceia and our kids ran deep, and I pledged to give them everything the world had to offer. In this moment, the marriage that started as a deal had finally transformed into a union of genuine love.

Maybe it was some strange mixture of relief, anger, bewilderment, maybe empathy for her. I had dreaded the marriage, and yet now being taken away-the sudden realization was sort of off-the-wall. “Why should you tell me this?” I asked, lowering my voice. "So that you know where I stand," she said, voice unwavering. "I am not going to pretend to buy into this nonsense. I highly recommend you do the same." She rose, scooping up her books. “Now, excuse me while I attend to some much-needed studying.” With that, she exited leaving me there thinking in circles. Forced marriage, broken engagement, Karen's reappearance - such a mess my life had become and I had no idea how to fix it.

“His brother literally took advantage of me, impregnated me and ran off without looking back, then eight years later he shows up and claim to be in love with me? Ohh please! “ I seethed. “Where was he the entire eight years? Scheming and planning how to arrange a contract marriage with me! Ontop of the whole thing, he still used me to get his inheritance, I just ….” I trailed off realizing I had exposed myself finally to Manuel. “Hold up …. Contract marriage? Inheritance? What are you talking about?!” Manuel asked at once. I exhaled deeply, well I’m out completely now, there’s no need to lie about anything again. “Yeah. We were practically strangers. I agreed to marry him on the condition th

I looked at the document in my hands and went into the house through the backdoor making sure no one notices me. I locked myself up the moment I got into my room and I wheeled myself straight to my desk. I put the file on the table and I saw my full name as well as Aaron's full name written boldly at the front. 'Terms and conditions of the marriage contract' I opened it and I began to read the content 'The marriage is an agreement between both parties and it is going to last for a period of one year' 'During the period of one year, Hazel Carter is expected to get pregnant for Aaron Gray and give him an heir in a year. Hazel must also move in immediately after getting married to Aaron'

I felt tired; my temples began to throb again. "I slept with Howard." The wine glass in his hand shattered on the floor. His eyes turned crimson, disbelief etched across his face. "Teagan! How could you…" I calmly closed my laptop and smiled at him. "What? Are you upset?" I genuinely hoped we could just have a marriage of convenience, where we could both enjoy the benefits this arrangement brought. He could sleep with a different woman every night, and I wouldn't care. Meanwhile, I would leverage the Brookes' connections to gain more resources for myself.

This wasn't a standard marriage contract; it was a covenant of protection, written by a woman who knew the world was dangerous and a father—Braham’s father—who didn't trust the man his fellow wolf’s daughter had chosen. "Listen to this," I choked out, my voice thick with the salt of my tears. " 'In the event of the death of one partner, the surviving spouse shall enter a period of mourning for no less than three and a half years. During this time, they shall not enter into a new romantic union or contract of marriage.'” I looked at the bed we had just moved. "They were together within months… and got married in a year and a few months. He didn't even wait for the grass to grow on her grave."

"Come on in. I hope you don't mind the heat. The A/C is broken, and no one has come to fix it yet." She didn’t say anything, just gave a stiff nod before pulling out a sleek leather folder and opening it on the chipped coffee table. “This is the marriage contract. Mr. Knight has instructed us to walk you through its key provisions. It outlines the six-month marriage arrangement.” I sat down slowly, my fingers twitching in my lap. I swallowed, my mouth suddenly dry. The document looked like a small novel. She started reading. “The marriage will be dissolved at the conclusion of the six months. Mr. Knight will provide you with the agreed-upon sum of one million dollars upon successfully comple

He asked as he leaned back in his seat. "Do what?" "Answer my question, Hannah" "Easy way?" I said unsure as to what he was trying to ask. "I want you to do something for me" "Okay..." "I want you to marry someone" "Is this a joke?" "When was I ever the one to joke around, Hannah?" He said in all seriousness. A deep line appeared between my brows as I felt confused and somewhat angry. "What does it mean? Marry someone?" "I want you to sign this" he slid a file towards me and as I was about to open it, he slammed his hand over it. "It's a marriage contract"

So handsome. Wait what?! What am I talking about?! "Good choice Ms. Gray." He said and clapped his hands once. He gave me a piece of paper. "Read that Ms. Gray befroe we discuss about some important matters." He said as he continued browsing something on his laptop. I looked at the paper and read it silently. Marriage Condition. Seriously? There still a condition? But on the second thought, I think this is better if we had conditions right? I mentally sighed. This day is really the worst day of my life!

I don't know why but I like messing with him. "You won't understand Scott," Patrick said shaking his head "Let me use myself as an example. My love for my wife is unending, it's even growing stronger as much as I can tell but you see this?" he said pointing as all of us and the mansion "I can't stop myself anymore. it's like an addiction and it has already permitted deep inside me that I can't stop now even if I want to," he said and for a moment we felt what he really meant.
