Sweat beaded on the mayor's forehead. “This… this can’t be real,” he stammered, clearly trying to act like he was in disbelief, although his voice showed the fact he knew otherwise.
Julian studied the man for a second. He couldn’t be fooled, it was evident that the mayor knew who was after him, and what he had done to make them target him, and it made him have questions, “It’s very real,” Julian said seriously. “And if you don’t act carefully, tonight’s speech will be your last. Although this makes me wonder, how did you piss them off?” He couldn’t help asking.
