Zach looked down at his phone afterwards and had a soft smile on his face. “Forever, Aria.” He said quietly. “Forever.” I repeated. “Aria! Wake up!” Hands were shaking my shoulders and my eyes slowly opened to see Ethan leaning over the center console. “Sorry, I can’t control when they come,” I told him. “When what comes, is it your memories?” He asked. “Yes, I had another one,” I informed him with a nostalgic smile. That was the sweetest memory I’ve had yet. “Tell me,” he said.

I gathered up the signed papers and was ready to leave the annual party. While I was waiting for a ride by the curb, a black Maybach rolled up and stopped right in front of me. The window slid down, and that familiar face appeared. Michael's expression looked almost wounded, which didn't match the cold, untouchable CEO vibe he usually gave off. "So what—you're just gonna leave after you used me?" His voice was half teasing, half serious. "You're a jerk. Are you really not planning to take responsibility?"

I wasn't sure if Chris was too busy taking care of Kaia to see my message or if he simply didn't want to sever our mate bond. Either way, I didn't receive a reply from him all day. Not that I needed his consent. If he refused to show up on the next full moon, Lucian could forcibly reject him on my behalf. The next afternoon, just as I was about to head to the library, I received a message from Drake. "Here's the ski resort's address. See you at 3:00 pm!"

The memo hit my inbox three days after our phone conversation, forwarded by Constance’s assistant with the kind of bureaucratic efficiency that screamed I hate my job but need the health insurance. Page was apparently still useful enough to keep around, though her days were numbered once the Montana-Xenos merger went through. Trust was a luxury in this business, and she clearly didn’t have it.

Mark said pretty much excited and before I could say no, he was out of sight, "Hmm" I sighed softly,I miss her, I missed her so much. If wishes were horses, if only wishes were horses. I follow, knowing that the secret organisation will be sending someone within the hour to check out the cafe, trying to catch me. Once we stop at the next town, I rent a small motel room and have a look at the file I had just transferred and gasp as I read an internal memo for the CEO of the secret organisation INTERNAL OPERATIONS MEMO ATTENTION CEO - VLAD Operation CLEAN SWEEP is on schedule. All supernatural forces are ready for deployment, use and then termination. Just waiting for the final orders and approvals.

I watch them for a second. If someone had told me yesterday that I would be standing in a safehouse with Sebastian Reed and Nadia Park, sorting through proof that my life and theirs were built on the same lie, I would have laughed in their face. Now I’m too tired to laugh. “Look at this,” Nadia says. She holds up a folded memo, not official enough to be a legal record. Too clean to be random. Sebastian takes it and reads. Then he hands it to me, a meeting notice, no letterhead, just typed lines.

I signaled to the man to enter the room which he immediately followed, after I closed the door I went back to my seat. "Is everything okay there?" Memo asked as if it was a worrying reason for me to smile like a fool here. "Yeah! Everything's fine, when are you coming back here?" I can’t help but ask Memo. "Um, maybe tomorrow I'll be able to go home, don't miss me too much and you might not be able to sleep with that." Memo said and I just shook my head even though he couldn't see me.

It was snowing in this town and the beautiful sight amazed me for a few seconds after my eyes fell on a tray on the little table beside the bed. One bowl and a glass filled with water, and there is a memo leaning against the bowl. Swallowing nervousness and believing that the threat of death resided only in my imaginative brain, I reached out my hand and pulled up the memo which contained nothing but 'eat me, Princess' and then a smiley emoji. I raised an eyebrow, and let out a slow breath.

He was not buying into what Fabio was saying. "We are good to go," Fabio said to the driver, who started the car with a button. The cars in their entourage flashed their headlights in unison before the cars pulled out of the driveway. "Where are we going?" Adriano asked. "What is this meeting all about?" Fabio reached into his suitcase and tossed a thick file at Adriano. "What is this?" "THE memo about the meeting," Fabio replied. "The answers to any question you have have been answered there."
