All the Feels

All the Feels

I can't face the assholes making mean comments about me on I*******m. Kelly: Lily, the loser. Her braces make her face look like a train station. Alexa: I know, right. Tia: Chugga Chugga Chew Chew!! I hate seeing their names everywhere. If I deleted my I*******m, then my book followers would be disappointed. I'm a bookstagrammar. Meaning people follow me and read my reviews of various novels. It's hard to be a critic. Someone must do it. "It's time to get off, Lily. I need to get the bus ready to pick up the half-day preschoolers, " Mrs. Norris says.

The Third Book

The Third Book

"Finally home!" Cela said to herself as soon as she stepped inside her apartment. It's still bare but already messy. Papers are everywhere and trash cans are full of empty soda bottles, instant noodle bowls, and take out containers. The evidence of working almost non-stop prior to the release of the second book are still inside the house. She couldn't even find time to take them out.

The Fathers of My Child?

The Fathers of My Child?

I tell myself to be normal for five minutes, to just be a person who buys tea and listens to people read, and not someone who survived a marriage contract, a diagnosis, and a city’s gossip machine with my name in its mouth. It's downtown and it's small. The kind of bookstore that stacks chairs between tall shelves and has a crooked stage made out of two platforms pushed together. There are string lights and a chalkboard that says OPEN MIC — 7PM — 5 MINUTES EACH — BE GENTLE. Someone’s kid is playing with a paper crane by the poetry section, and the woman at the counter is making a big deal out of steaming milk for a stranger because she wants the foam to look like a heart.

Love, Life, and Other Stuff

Love, Life, and Other Stuff

“I did an article on them when they first opened last year.” “You’re a writer, too?” Kendall asked, her eyes wide. Nodding, Brooklyn told her, “I write for an online paper. We’re local, but we’re expanding. I’m hoping it leads to something more.” “That’s awesome!” Kendall said. Looking around the spa, she pointed to Lewis, Addy, and Brooklyn as she said, “So, we’ve got an aspiring filmmaker, an up-and-coming fashion designer, and a writer living in the building. Who knew such talent surrounded us?”

Except, of course, some people pay attention to all of this. and show up. The two exchanged a knowing look. Lexie and Killian

Lexie and Killian

"Take a look." The book was covered in heavy, embossed leather and in the center, in script, was the letter K. What the hell was this? A scrapbook? What kind of scrapbook could Dusty have been keeping? He continued eating in silence, preparing himself for whatever he was going to see, while Marliss and Lou gave him what he called the deadeye stare. Finally, he pushed his plate away, wiped his mouth, and opened the book.

Don't Date Your Best Friend (The Unfolding Duet 2 Books)

Anya had already found a better house for her and Andrew, which was closer to her law firm and the school. As we both dozed off, I kept thinking about having children and hearing their tiny giggles in our home. First read the book for the romance, but after that I have to say this is a brilliant work. The writer has done an excellent job about the FL struggles with anxiety & depression. And the ML is not an angel himself, they both have flaws but that’s what make the book so relatable & hv many nuances

An Exchange of Lives

An Exchange of Lives

Something inside me snapped. I lunged forward, grabbing at their collars and arms and shoving them aside. My mouth was wide open as I shouted, "Get out! All of you, get the hell out! Don't look! It wasn't me! I didn't do anything!" People rushed to restrain me. Blurred and distorted faces loomed closer, then receded, their mouths moving, voices overlapping and sharp. The cacophony hit my ears like countless nails scraping across a blackboard, the grating sound digging directly into my skull.

“Sasha Burnette, Game 51.” It made me feel a bit cruel, but I was horribly intrigued by the books. I could’ve sat and read them all day, living through the eyes of previous contestants. It was morose and sad that they had been lost to the games, but I actually enjoyed learning about them and their lives. As much as I wanted to sit and read Sasha’s entire book, I was pretty sure the restricted section didn’t have a check out system. Either way, the carving on the bookcase had pinpointed a specific page for a reason.

Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.
Therese Dahlqvist
The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet
