Inyoka: The Snake Goddess

Inyoka: The Snake Goddess

1568—The beginning of the witch hunt “Push! Push!” The midwife barked at the pregnant woman, who has been in labor for several hours, suffering excruciating pain as she bleeds all over the sheets. “I can’t,” The pregnant woman cried, “Tear me open and take my baby out of me; I don’t think I can go on any longer.” She wept; her body was frail, and she could barely breathe, panting profusely as the other midwives held her down.

The Maid Who Stole My Alpha

The Maid Who Stole My Alpha

and the poisoned bond carried the cold of his horror into my chest. The woman’s face was older, scarred, and pale as burial wax, but the black eye, thin mouth, and crescent-shaped birthmark near her jaw remained unmistakable. Farkas lifted his cane with a shaking hand and pointed at her like memory had become a weapon at last. “She died in the birthing chamber,” he said, his voice breaking beneath eighteen years of buried fear. “She was Rudina’s midwife.” The dead midwife smiled at both daughters she had divided.

Magda

Magda

She came over to where I was sitting and sat at the edge of the bed, patiently waiting for my response. I sighed and stared hard at the ceiling before I closed my eyes. "Because..." "...I don't have dignity anymore." "I...don't have a face to show." * * * * "Whoooooooo!" Clap! Clap! Clap! "Yeah!" "You're beautiful, Magda!" People kept on shouting here and then in the entertainment club as I danced on the stage. My name in the club was Magda. I didn't use my real name here just to hide my identity even if my neighbors already knew what kind of woman I was.

The Pack's Emissary

The Pack's Emissary

She felt the witch’s hands on her stomach. “What are you doing?” She groaned out. “I’m a midwife,” the witch replied with a reassuring smile. “I’m just trying to feel what position baby is in. You’re doing great. How far apart are the contractions?” “Do I look like I have a watch?” Aislen snapped back.

I have read series-more than once while waiting but have to ask--- why change the covers? The others fit although they could have made Aislen a bit prettier since everyone goes on about how beautiful and Sexy she is she didn't quite fit but all of the new covers are AWFUL! please change!!!!!

My Sister Claimed I Stole Her Baby

My Sister Claimed I Stole Her Baby

This time, I pointed it at the midwife's throat. "Let me paint you a picture." My voice was dangerously low. "A young girl disappears after giving birth. Then a shady midwife shows up with the baby and the girl's ID. Smells like human trafficking, doesn't it? Maybe even organ harvesting. That's a story the cops would eat alive." The crowd started to get agitated. "Oh my God..." "That's horrible..." "We should call the police..." The midwife completely fell apart. "No! It's not like that! Bella's alive! She's at the clinic!"

HIS MAID WIFE

HIS MAID WIFE

Aubrey nodded, her trust in Evan unwavering, and made her way towards the designated location. As Aubrey approached the towering, desolate building, her steps felt heavy and hesitant. The sound of her own heartbeat seemed to drown out the world around her. Evan's trusted companion discreetly followed, a silent guardian ready to protect her at any cost. Reaching the topmost area, Aubrey's breath caught in her throat. There, in the dimly lit room, sat Aldrich, his hands and legs bound, a captive to this cruel game. Aubrey's heart shattered into a million pieces as she saw her child in such a vulnerable state.

TEMPORARY MATES, PERMANENT CRAVINGS

TEMPORARY MATES, PERMANENT CRAVINGS

"You've fought too hard to stop now." She brushed damp hair away from my face. "Push, darling. Please." Another contraction came. I screamed. "Don't leave me," I begged. Neither of them hesitated. "We're right here." The chanting outside grew louder. Something heavy struck the walls again. The midwife leaned over me. "Your son is almost here." "I think..." I gasped. "I think I'm dying." "Don't say that,” Joanna's voice cut across the room. "You are not dying today, you hear me? You survived Meridian’s poisoning and survived everything they threw at you."

My absolute favorite book on the app! The author's progress as a writer is evident throughout this story & it is just so well written. As the real conflict unfolded I was hooked & I found myself checking for updates multiple times a day. Thanks to the author for chapter length & frequent uploads.
