“Ever since the new CEO came in,” Minnie said, lowering her voice conspiratorially, “it’s like everything needs to be proofread, reformatted, redesigned. He edits internal memos like he’s curating the next bestselling novel.”
I raised a brow. “The CEO? I haven’t met him yet.”
“Lucky you,” Paolo said with a half-laugh. “He’s intense.”
“Sharp eyes, never raises his voice, but the way he stares at you makes you want to check your email five more times before hitting send,” Minnie added. “He doesn’t even need to speak to make you feel like you’ve disappointed him. It’s actually impressive.”
