One thick volume labeled CASTLE HAZARDS struck a stone, flipped open, and vomited a swarm of translucent, wailing shapes—castle ghosts, their eyes hollow, fingers like icicles. They shrieked and arrowed toward us in a ragged storm. Another book, NEON DRONE PATTERNS, burst against a fallen shelf. Drones extruded from the pages like wasps from a nest, metal bodies shining, eyes already lighting up with target locks.

Naina Begins “I was twenty years old. I used to go for research to the oldest library in the city, along with my two friends — Shivender and Megha. The library had five floors. But no one ever knew what was on the fifth floor. It was always locked. People said it was under restoration — old papers, damaged books, archived files. But the truth was… No one ever went there. The Nun In The Library I IN the library, dust motes danced in the lone shaft of light that shone through the stained-glass window, illuminating the rows of bookshelves that were properly lined in the back. Sister Mary, her habit a stark silhouette against the warm glow, traced a finger along the spine of a theological text. The scent of old paper and beeswax polish clung to the air, a familiar comfort that came when she was reading books. Today, however, an unfamiliar tremor rippled beneath her skin. Chapter 35: Whispers in the Night Annie found herself within a room with no windows nor does she hear any sound except those repetitive words the nun whispers into her ear. The tone of her voice insistent in the need for her to listen. “Do you see him?” she asked softly. “Who,” she can feel the fear vibrating in her throat.

Then a loud bang. Nora flinched so hard she nearly toppled over, her tiny hands flying to her ears. The man collapsed, blood spreading across the floor like ink. Aria leaned in, her voice a whisper of poisoned honey. "This could be you if you don’t behave." Nora was too young to understand the weight of death but she understood fear. And that night, she learned there were things in this world worse than monsters under the bed.

Domus, Domus, Domus! The detective watched in bewilderment as the nun continued her ritual, her eyes flickering and her head tilting slightly to the side, forward then backwards. Her hands shook, making the rosary dangle on her fingers. For a long moment, the detective suddenly felt eerie, an ominous and non-existent air crawling up his skin making him shudder. “What’s happening?!” he yelled out but the nun continued to do her ritual. The detective thought to just ran away and call for help but his feet felt glued on the floor.

Nora stood in front of the grimoire, staring at it. It was an old book. With pages that had been weathered from time. The name Connolly was emblazoned on it in silver, with stars that surrounded it. She reached her hand out and let it hover over the top of it. “Are you okay?” Roman asked. Nora bit her lip. “I’m fine.” He was holding her right hand, and stroked it lightly. “You don’t sound fine.” “After everything that happened with my parents, everything about this scares me. I know that we’re doing this to get rid of Merrick but I didn’t grow up in this world. And the few times that I’ve used my magic…”
