I nodded slowly, realizing what his answer truly meant: the Living Book wasn't here. Whether he didn’t trust me, or the danger was too great to carry it along, I didn’t know. But I stopped searching. Instead, I buried myself in the small cube Zevarion had gifted me, fingers working it restlessly as I tried to anchor my thoughts in the memory of his warmth, his arms, his voice. Each night grew colder. Each morning, darker. And then, on the eleventh day, just as the book had warned, we reached it. The horses slowed, snorting uneasily. Even the wind stilled, as though the very earth held its breath.

Sade's body exploded in a flash of white light, disappearing out of sight. Hailey and Kayleen both got down on one knee. "At your service, Masters." Just then, Wilbur and Augheimer looked at the two ladies at the same time. Augheimer said, "At ease. You can both go back now, your work here is done." "Yes, Master." Hailey and Kayleen disappeared the next second. Just then, a fierce wind rolled over as a pillar of white light descended from the heavens as Odysseus appeared in front of the two men.

I took my book and I lit my index finger with fire and tried burning the book. "They got us there". Zale said and sighed getting his own book and tried to toss it in the ocean. I stopped my fire and stopped him. "Well, as we are back to square one, let's just try to gather information from the northern part," I said and smiled at him. I put my book inside my bag again. It was pointless anyway, to burn the book. It is the book of origin, a book written by the Gods, it is protected from being harmed by anything, by anyone.

But when I was about to put the book back on the shelf, my hand gripped the book tighter. "Oh, Moon Goddess," cried Eliz, stepping back to avoid me. A blue light flashed out of the book, and suddenly the wind was fast enough to open all the sheets of the book before my eyes. I felt my iris come to light when I saw the book in my hand. There are so many whispers that I hear, and they seem to be scrambling to know me. Some of them whispered while singing familiar melodies to my ears.

The First Keeper's distant voice echoed through the void. "Adrian..." "Hurry..." "The Eleventh Door..." "...has begun to open."

I was about to probe some more when two little arms crept their way around my waist from behind and I was hugged tightly. “Dareios! I’m so glad you brought Callista with you this time!” Cassia cried out, turning to him and giving him a hug. His features softened and he lifted the child up onto his shoulders with ease. She buried her fingers in his unnaturally black hair as if it were silk and stared down at me with her large eyes. “What are you talking about?” she asked, her eyes seeming to pierce into my soul. “Just about Icelus and Phantasus, little one.” Dareios replied before quickly changing the topic to some nymphs who had decided that they were going to try and bathe in the river Styx

Alaric pointed to an altar far off where an open book glowed a brilliant turquoise blue. It was situated right in the middle of a field of green grass. The field had vibrant colors of different flowers, ranging from Indian paintbrushes, wild irises, and carnations. Alaric and Odessa headed towards the book and stopped at the foot of the altar. Odessa stretched a hand on top of the book. "Here goes nothing." There was a burst of light, and Odessa's head reared back to the sky with so much force that Alaric feared she would break her neck. Her eyes were a radiant blue color, connecting her to the book and its contents.

A burst of yellow fire flared in the sky, and Legolas cowered back, fearful for a minute, speculating into what awful Underhill town Charlotte was carrying them. The little leprechaun scratched his eyes, and when he saw the moon rising above the eastern shadows, almost as full as the western rise of the sun, he rubbed his eyes even harder. “What? What’s happening?” Obligichaun said. Then, the night was still young, and the long voyage to the east would take hours. He stood up straight and talked.

Up above, the Clouds forms and cover the stars, only the moon can be seen, thunder rumbles, and flashes of lightning hit the sky.
