I was halfway through my morning tea when I heard the commotion downstairs.
Raised voices. Heavy footsteps. The sharp, official tone of someone who’d come on pack business.
I set down my cup carefully and waited.
Within moments, Olive appeared at my chamber door. Her expression was carefully blank, the way it had been for two weeks now, ever since I’d gone back to Kade.
“Luna,” she said, her voice formal, distant. “There are guards here. From the main house. They’re carrying the Alpha’s staff.”
