I wasn’t looking at him directly, but I was watching him through my peripheral vision. “Once upon a time, in a peaceful village nestled between rolling hills, there was a little owl named Oliver.” I took a short pause to kiss Elon on top of his head. “Oliver wasn’t like the other owls. While most of them preferred to sleep during the day and fly at night, Oliver loved the quiet, magical time just before the moon rose.” Elon looked at the pictures as I read the story. I bet he was reading it with his eyes, too, so I didn’t flip the page right away.

She should have just said "owl" - Owl. Owl. – Lucasta reached out and grabbed an owl right next to her and gave it to Maris. - Oh my gosh. Do you understand what I'm saying? That's right, owl. Lucasta, you're amazing. All right, wait a minute, I'll get you some chocolate. Maris immediately ran away and a moment later, she returned with a bunch of chocolates in her hand and took one, and peeled it off. The most voracious owl of the flock quickly flew over and landed on Maris' hand, poking its beak into the chocolate.

“Or notice you?” I smile. It’s small, sharp, and determined. “I’ll make him.” There’s a beat of silence as that sinks in. Then all three girls grab cushions, press them to their faces, and scream. I scream too. It’s chaotic, high-pitched, ridiculous, and very, very real. I’m going to sleep with Owen Kyle. I’m going to humble the golden boy of Briarwood High. I don’t admit it out loud, not even to myself, but the truth sparks inside my chest, small but impossible to ignore:

I could tell she wanted to debate further but his Alpha word overruled. He continued, "Arthur will marry Catherine but he can keep the breeder until the wedding day." He glanced at me and firmly stated, "But no longer than that." I pondered his new conditions as the room fell uncomfortably silent. This was his camp and I'd just rejected our earlier terms. There wasn't much more I could do than compromise. He'd just done so for me. Finally, I said, "Deal." *** Ophelia’s POV I woke up in my bed feeling terribly sick. Opening my eyes, I tried to remember where I was. The sheets were soaked with sweat and twisted around me. I must have been tossing and turning.

*Olivia Jillian Hunters' POV* --- "Hey, OJ, look! It is your boy, Harvey. Do you wanna talk to him first? I can wait. Not that I am gonna eavesdrop, but I will wait till we are good to go. Or do you want me to go ahead first? I could, too." Grace Thales, one of my closest friends, asked me curiously as we got sight of my boyfriend, who has been eyeing me as he walks in the hallway with his group of friends.

I look around for the owl and see he’s perched by the willow tree. “Goodbye dad” I say. The owl screeches and head I back home through the tunnel. Shortly after I get back. I hear a knock on the door. I open the door and our eyes lock. My heart starts beating Instantly you have this effect on me. “Fancy seeing you here” Charles jokes. “Come in” I say holding the door open. He walks inside and follow me back over to the couch to sit down. “Do you want to watch a movie or something” he asked. I pick up the remote for the TV and hand it to him.

She didn’t think they would care about the new holes her magic had drilled into their skulls. “I think Jenna has arrived,” Rave said, lifting his eyes toward the canopy of branches above. “I hear an owl flying low.” A moment later, a large brown and white owl fluttered to the ground near the riverbank. Leesa watched as the familiar silver glow appeared around the owl’s taloned feet and slowly worked its way up the bird’s legs and body. When the glow reached the owl’s head, a silver flash lit up the night for a split second. When the flash disappeared, Jenna stood where the bird had been.

I pretended to have just regained consciousness as I said with a pained expression, "Owen, what happened just now? My stomach really hurts!" Owen patted my back gently, showing a tenderness I had never seen before. His voice sounded choked as he said, "The witch examined you just now. Our pup is gone." I pinched myself and forced out a few tears. Upon seeing this, Owen cupped my face and kissed the tracks of my tears. "Ivy, we'll have another pup. I'll stay by your side until you fully recover." At that moment, a phone rang, again and again.

Something is wrong. I glance at Owen and snort before I whip my head back towards the door and march out of the room. This can’t continue on. Somehow, I’ll find a way to stop this. My feet suddenly stop outside of Owen and Finn’s bedroom as a faint smell tickles my nose. My wolf lets out a soft whimper while my heart quickens. No. It can’t be. Why is it here too? *** Owen POV

Owen burst out maybe because of the twin slap that he received. "You're gay, and you like Leon! And because you two are living together, you thought that he likes you too! Aren't you snake? You keep living with him under one roof because you couldn't live without him! You want him!" Now, Angelica is trying to get everyone's attention by making lies. "Who told you that Owen couldn't live without Leon? Didn't you know, Owen moved in my house but Leon keep pestering him and even bought his own big house just to take back Owen?" It's Steven now.
