Next to it are two smaller bushes that look like they’re just rooted enough to bloom. One has blooms with deep red petals that verge on a plum. They’re larger than the Earl Gray roses, but it’s difficult to look away from how unusual they are. The other is a white with a hint of blush coloring in the center. She was not the least bit touched by David's proclamation. She glanced at the roses before her. They no longer had thorns, so they wouldn't cut her. With that in mind, her fingers glided from the stems to the flowers. Then, she plucked a petal.
