A Foundation of Lies

A Foundation of Lies

Two towering security guards walked in and unceremoniously escorted the two of them out. Before leaving, Louis gave me one last look. That look contained hatred, anger, and something I couldn't quite read. Maybe it was regret, or maybe it was just bitterness. I just pretended not to see it. The doors closed, and the world was finally peaceful again. Henry turned around, the warm smile returning to his face. "Rachel, welcome aboard. Ignore those clowns; just focus on doing your job well." I let out a long breath and earnestly thanked him.

THE BILLIONAIRE'S RELUCTANT BRIDE

THE BILLIONAIRE'S RELUCTANT BRIDE

What was probably still happening. Time moved differently at thirty thousand feet. Minutes felt endless and each one stretched as I sat trapped in my leather prison. I tried to read a novel I had brought. It was a romance, ironically. The story of a woman who found true love against all odds. But the words swam before my eyes as black ants on white paper. The sentences didn't make sense. The characters felt flat and unreal. How could I read about fictional love when my real life was so empty of it?

An Unwilling Union

An Unwilling Union

Judah's curt voice cut through my skin. Of course, he was still an asshole, why did I think that because we had a moment he would automatically become St Nick. "This is my first time flying, I wasn't aware that I had a phobia. Don't worry, it will never happen again because I'm never getting on a plane again." I pulled out my phone and opened my eBook reader. I chose a romance novel that I had started a day ago and started to read it. From the corner of my eye, I saw Judah open his mouth to say something but he shut himself on and picked up his laptop.

The Rutherford Series

The Rutherford Series

It was quiet a moment, and then, he asked, "What was it you meant when you said that was your first time without Selby?" Faith leaned back against the truck door so she could see her boss better and be comfortable at the same time. She debated for a second how much to tell him, but then decided it didn't really matter since he had already seen her fully exposed. "October was a…hmmmm…what would you call it?" She struggled to try to decide the best way to describe the changes in their lifestyle. Finally, she shrugged. "A new chapter? A course direction? I don't know. Selby has always tried to get me to open up and share some of my fantasies with him. Being raised a legalistic Southern Baptist,

His Reluctant Bride: Contracted To My Enemy

His Reluctant Bride: Contracted To My Enemy

“That might work for a company that didn’t go down for pedophilia, child exploitation, corruption... sexual assault... fraud. Jasmine, this isn’t a movie. This isn’t some scrappy-underdog-makes-it-big-again storyline.” “That’s not true. And the part I'm sure you know better than anyone, I'm sure you know how much of it came from the rot at the top. Or maybe they want us to believe Mr Nathaniel did those horrible things, but do you really believe that? I'm sure you don't. And you can either try to rebuild what’s left of it... or live with being the Hayes; whose father’s name is remembered for all the wrong reasons.” I swallowed hard. “And what do you expect me to do, exactly? It’s not like th

A Vow Of Reluctance

A Vow Of Reluctance

Because the alternative was losing everything I’d spent years building. But saying that out loud would make it too real. Instead, I meet his eyes with a defiance I barely feel. “Why did you?” His expression doesn’t change, but something flickers in those dark eyes, a shadow of hesitation. “For Alejandro.” Three words. But they cut through the noise, anchoring me in the reality of this arrangement. This isn’t just a business deal to him , there’s a little boy caught in the middle of it. A child who who lost both parents now has to accept a stranger as his mother figure.

The Don's Reluctant Obsession

The Don's Reluctant Obsession

"Yes, but it is just an offering. One I don't plan on taking. Vincent told Chiara they had to wait until after school. She thinks that is true for me too. Despite me sending her away, her father drills it in her head that she is the best choice and that I will eventually take her as my wife. As far as mafia code, that was written centuries ago. It is like the Bible. Christians don't run around whipping their disobedient wives, do they? It isn't to be taken literally anymore." I leaned back with one hand on her legs and the other on the back of couch. Solenne adjusted so she laid her head on the couch pillow and her butt was against my thighs. I liked this closeness and my dick was very happy

A Reluctant Promise

A Reluctant Promise

Every night, when passion brought them close, she would lie in his arms, gaze at the tattoo, and ask him what it meant. He had hesitated, as feelings of fondness and longing washed over him. “It’s faith. A faith more important to me than my own life.” Back then, Valerie didn’t know that the letters represented Camilla Baldwin. Valerie had naively believed his words, accepting them without question. She saw his dreams as her own and adopted his faith, even going as far as to get an identical tattoo. Now, looking back on those memories, Valerie didn’t feel pain anymore—only a kind of bittersweet humor.

What are we going to do then? The occupants of the room all looked at one another, Mrs Sanders laughed out first the other’s followed suit, suddenly feeling refreshed, she tilted her head, and smiled genuinely at Polly for the very first time in her life “ I have always given my daughter whatever she desired in life. And she doesn’t take no for an answer, No matter how reluctant he is, no matter how much he likes the title of being the Reluctant Groom he can’t be reluctant forever.” She said with a beam on her face

He apologized. I nodded, not taking it to mind, because I could understand him. He had been living with Alphas all his life with the only exception being his mother, who was a beta. So, it was acceptable that things would be awkward when he had to converse with an omega. "I will go with a painting of Sterly...". Wait. What?! Shit! I guess I had been infected!

The story wasn't anything like I thought it would be based on the synopsis, but I really enjoyed it. There were a lot of good twists that kept things interesting, and the side characters were well developed. Stephen and Jared's friendship was so cute!
