The sand beneath her feet did not move, did not respond. Wind? Fire? The air between them hazed, and Ariadne roared at him with the fury of someone struggling with a weight beyond them. He saw the strain on her face, the veins that popped on it. Whatever she was about to do she did at the cost of what reia she had left. A strong Y formed at the center of her forehead and reia pulled between him and her. In its place a shield manifested, or at least began manifesting. It was round and large enough to hide her from head to crown, like shields used by non-mage soldiers in the old forgotten time against those once called the berserker warriors crossed the sea for the sake of conquest.

When we were about to go in suddenly something came out of the room , it was a wand . I fell down . When i opened my eyes i heard someone calling me . '' Hey open up your eyes , look at me are you alive ?'' a woman's voice asked . I opened my eyes . '' Great you are alive '' she sighed in relief . '' Where am i ? who are you people ?'' Arhur asked in a low voice . '' You are in my guild Wizards guild and i am the guild master , Shelly , am sorry for throwing the wand at you '' she apologized .

An ear-splitting dragon's roar echoed from the Sky Breaking Ax. It was closely followed by a ray of golden light that burst out, charging in Yooda's direction. The golden light moved as if it would split heaven from earth clean in half. It was a terrifying sight. Interesting! Yooda's gaze flashed when he sensed the power of the golden light. He remained unaffected, even flashing a smile. In the next second, Yooda channeled his fiend soul energy to raise his right hand and create a shield in front of him. The shield glistened with blood-red symbols, making for a sinister sight.

I kept an eye on Cain and Shamshiel as the two men faced off against their opponents. Kokabiel was slinking around Cain, a maniacal grin twisting his lips, his shoulders rounded and uneven. His sword twirling in his hands gracefully as they continued to tear at each other. Cain’s face was black and blue, one eye swollen shut and several teeth missing; a deep gash running down one of his arms. Kokabiel wasn’t exactly faring much better, his lip split, one wing off and the other torn and missing clumps of feathers that had been ripped out. Bruises littered his beautiful face as well, his golden halo of hair crusted with blood. Blood Cain had spilled I thought, satisfied he was managing to get

“Magic thrives on intention. If your mind drifts, the shield will falter.” She dipped her head in acknowledgment. Closing her eyes, she called on Asena. The wolf’s reassuring growl of support rumbled in her mind, and she exhaled, letting her resolve solidify. This time, the shield that appeared felt less forced. She opened her eyes to see it gleaming more steadily, shimmering before her like a protective veil. Eamon nodded with satisfaction, tapping it gently with the wooden staff. It held firm.

I cried, “give me your strength!” Magic flooded me, then spilled out of my hand to encircle the shield, dazzling the darkness with brilliant silver light. All eyes fell on me, and then with a yell, the attackers pushed. Not just a few men and women, but dozens bursting out from the trees, their eyes full of murder. And I stood alone. Or so I thought. A shield materialized next to mine, and I turned to find Tristan next to me, his axe shining bright. His face was smeared with blood, but he grinned. “Arm up, Born-in-Fire.” Then, louder, he cried, “Shield wall!”

Instead, I let it move through me, imagining it as a river flowing freely, unburdened by fear or doubt. Slowly, I raised my hand, feeling the energy gather at my fingertips. It was warm, almost comforting, as it spread outward. A soft hum filled the air, and when I opened my eyes, a shimmering shield had formed around me. It wasn’t perfect—there were cracks along its surface, and it flickered slightly—but it held. The light from the shield cast a gentle glow around the courtyard, reflecting in Kael’s approving gaze. “Better,” he said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “You’re learning to trust it. Now, hold it.”

They just fell, black smoke spilling from their wounds instead of blood. I’d fought before, bled before—but this was different. These weren’t battles for survival anymore. This was war. The Heart’s energy pulsed in my veins, begging to be unleashed. I let it rise, just enough to create a shield around us. The barrier shimmered gold, humming softly. Each time a blade struck, the light flared brighter. Sylra barked orders from the steps, her warriors joining the fray, but for every assassin cut down, two more appeared. They poured from the shadows like a tide of death.
