A shiver travelled through my down my back. "That's about the same time the attacks started getting worse," he told me. "Why do you think you're a rogue? Do you even know what they are?" I felt the tears burn the back of my eyes as I knotted my fingers together in my lap. "My old pack told me that the only title I'd ever be worthy of is a rogue." "You're nothing like the rogue werewolves." Hunt sounded so reassuring and when I looked at him, his eyes were warm and kind.

And then, softer, sharp as glass: “Maybe it’s true..” I turned away, fighting the sick twist in my gut, and froze when Kael’s voice sliced through the murmurs. “Bring him forward.” Two warriors dragged one of the rogues closer, forcing him to his knees. He was bigger than the rest, his jaw scarred, his eyes wild. He spat blood at Kael’s feet, earning a sharp blow from a guard. Kael didn’t flinch. He just crouched, his shadow stretching long in the torchlight, and lifted the rogue’s chin with one hand.

We have 30 rogues coming straight towards us an two of them leap for Rebel. She snarls and shifts in the air taking the first rogue by his throat and snapping his neck before they hit the ground. The second rogue goes to jump on her back but she twists under him a rips through his underbelly and guts him like a fish. They both lay there dead. I’m fighting a rogue and watching at the same time and I’m shocked and full of pride. My mate is a fucking killer. She sees three rogues attacking one of my warriors and she kicks one off while taking a chunk out of another’s back leg.

Layla snarls as we take aim and fire, catching the rogue just before he slashes my warrior’s throat. “If there’s one, there’s more,” I reply grimly, moving to the three downed men. I snap each of their necks while my warrior finishes off the rogue. Then I turn—and freeze. I’m surrounded. My back hits a tree. My hand inches toward my gun. “Tsk, tsk,” a rogue clicks his tongue. “Touch it, and he rips her head clean off.” He gestures to a female warrior—bloodied, broken, barely breathing. One of them holds her up by the hair. She’s limp, unable to lift her head.

“But we talked it over. Seems like you’re a precious little bitch. We think we can get more than one thousand dollars for you.” My warriors withdrew their swords. “GET HER!” a rogue shouted then, before they had even reached us. The rogues lunged. One of my warriors swept me aside, out of the way. My warriors and the rogues fought. I desperately wanted to fight, but I couldn’t risk it, not with my baby. So all I could do was watch in horror. The rogues were good fighters. Far better than I’d assumed. One of them sunk a dagger into my warrior’s shoulder. Another one kicked one of my warriors so hard, he nearly toppled off the edge of the cliff.

Fueled by adrenaline, Nora flung the rogue off her, throwing it over her head and rushing to her feet. She needed a plan. The rogue was definitely trained for combat and she wasn't so, it was up to Nora to come up with tricks to win. Letting the rogue get away was not an option so Nora swallowed her pride and howled at the top of her lungs. Realizing that she was calling for backup, the rogue ran for its life but it was limping now from when Nora had thrown it off her. She chased after it and pounced on its back, pushing it to the ground. She raised a claw to finish it off when another rogue jumped at her, knocking her off the wolf.

We don’t get rogues often, but it does happen from time to time. I jump into the battle, slashing my claws at the first rogue I come across. I notice that Alpha Tyrice’s wolf is in the fray along with two other warriors. We have an Alpha who isn’t afraid to get his paws dirty when needed. We all continue to fight the rogues, taking them out one by one. I look around, and only one rogue is left. I shift and bark orders at the warriors to clear the bodies. A few more warriors have joined us, and they are now holding the last rogue. I’m sure we will try to question him to see why he ended up here.

“A rogue...you’re a rogue.” It seems his whispered words got through to everyone for she became the centre of attention. Growls could be heard and yet instead of moving, instead of running for her life, she stood unmoving in her place. Rogues were frowned upon, they weren’t allowed anywhere near packs, especially not this one. She had been too bold, but right now, she didn’t care. Despite the commotion in the room, her eyes searched for Xavier, not being able to spot him through the crowd that had surrounded her.

I was born a rogue, and now I’m about to become a slave. Rogues, if captured, are sold as slaves to the packs. It’s their cruel way of getting back at us for leaving in the first place. If we won’t be a part of their packs as a member, well, then we will be forced to be slaves if captured. It’s cruel, but rogues have no justice in this world. The silver chains burn my wrist and ankles. My inner right forearm stings from the R that has been burned onto it to indicate that I’m now a rogue slave. It will heal, but the silver causes it to heal slowly. I will forever be marked as a slave.

"Take her." They moved forward, but Zane stepped in front of me. "Try it." "You can't fight us all, Darius." "Want to bet?" A howl echoed through the forest. Then another. And another. Rogues emerged from the shadows. Dozens of them, surrounding the pack wolves. "You brought an army?" Alpha Thorne snarled. "I brought family." Zane smiled, all teeth. "The rogues you've been hunting? They're mine. Every last one."
