Novel & Cerita The Selection Review

Even a single scratch on Liora today will see my step-mother Valerie and my father destroy me. Because today is a special day. It is the first official sage of The Selection, after Liora and Seren had previously passed the screening stage. From age sixteen, girls like them live for this day. Between nineteen and twenty-two, seven girls are chosen from each pack and sent to the capital pack, Emberglade, for the final ceremony. Powerful alphas, lords, and kings select women for their harems. The benefits stretch wide: power, wealth, status and protection. Everything girls like Liora and Seren would kill for.

“The client assigned to Project Aurora will arrive next week for final review.” People sat straighter immediately. Someone whispered— “That early?” Adrian continued. “This review determines whether the project moves forward.” Silence. Then— “The preparation team remains unchanged.” His eyes moved briefly. Stopped. Selena. Then continued. “Lead remains Selena.” Several people looked toward her. Selena blinked slightly. Then nodded. No reaction. But inside— she felt pressure immediately. This wasn’t a practice review anymore. Adrian continued. “This information stays internal.” His voice became colder.

A larger reminder that every person in this building is watching for something, even when they look like they are only doing their job. The briefing before the presentation ceremony is conducted by a palace official named Voss, middle-aged, careful, the kind of man who has delivered this speech many times and has learned to say nothing while using many words. He covers the Selection's purpose, its timeline, its protocols. Thirty days. One chosen candidate. Bonding ceremony to follow. The previous Selection, I say when he pauses. That was four years ago? A beat. Small, but I catch it. Voss says the heir passed unexpectedly, and His Majesty felt it appropriate to begin again.

I focused intently on reassembling the fixture, forcing myself not to eavesdrop. “What’s this?” Chris asked, his tone clipped. “That is a list of all of the most eligible bachelorettes from the five packs—those who could potentially make suitable Luna candidates. The other Elders and I expect you to review it and submit your top ten picks within the next week for further evaluation.”

Tracing the lines forward from this point to the various places they might lead. The foundation's medical board would review the application. The review process was handled by specialists, not by Adrian personally. His name was on the building but the selection process had its own infrastructure, its own people, its own logic that had nothing to do with him directly. The privacy protections in the application were legally robust. I had read them four times.

The arena burst into a clamor of voices as people turned to each other with transfixed gazes. Throughout the history of the firm, there has never been a record of them having a particular face so it was shocking news for all of us. Zoe allowed us to calm down again before continuing. "So, they would be making their selection based on certain characteristics and properties which will not be disclosed to you guys for performance reasons so you all should try your best," she said. The excitement died down slowly as people began to grumble. "If they don't give us something to work with, how would we know the selection is fair," one person said behind me.

Alen smiled widely, “Of course. These two friends of mine are very good. In the past they managed to take the highest position in every selection.” Suddenly, they heard James snort loudly, causing the three people to turn to the young man with troubled looks. James said, “You three are talking about us,” he then pointed at himself and Riley, “As if we don't belong here.” Hearing that, Ben chuckled. Alen patted James on the back and grinned. Meanwhile, the selection event had begun. Mary along with Janice took turns explaining the selection rules. After the two women finished speaking, Andrew Reece turned to the three war commanders standing behind him, “Make sure they are in the field that s

"I'm trying to build something that actually works. That requires the uncomfortable questions." Petra held her gaze for a moment. Then she opened her folder. "Section four," she said. "The oversight mechanism for faction representatives. You've proposed an independent review body with rotating membership." She looked up. "Who selects the rotation?" "Random selection from a pool of qualified candidates," Eve said. "The pool itself is assembled by a cross-faction committee in the first year and then reviewed every five years." "Who decides what qualified means," Petra said. "The cross-faction committee sets the criteria in year one," Eve said. "The criteria are published publicly and can be ch

“You know how long werewolf lives are—the new King will reign for many years, Goddess willing, so it’s important that the elders make the right decision. We’ll be ruled by a Council of Elders in the interim.” “What’s the criteria to enter the Selection?” I asked. “It’s complicated,” Jax said. “It has to do with the pack—its strength and size. The alpha’s parents, the bloodline...there’s a lot to it. Ask one of your tutors. I don’t have the energy to explain it all right now.” “Oh.” I understood that Jax was grieving, but he was being a bit short with me. He must have seen the hurt on my face because he managed a reassuring smile.

May asked “We will do a blind vote” “What does that mean ma’am?” May was confused “Since they are over 3000, the selection will run for 2 weeks and the public will be doing the selection” “The public will be doing a selection?” “Ma’am, wouldn’t it be risky, people might steal their styles”
