At last, a scream tore through the battlefield—Jade’s.
The sky darkened instantly, clouds rolling in like ink. From the treeline, the Shadow Queen appeared—tall, graceful, her eyes burning red.
“Enough!” she hissed.
Every wolf froze.
Even the wind died.
Jade’s gaze fixed on Baylee. “You’ve fought well, child. But you’re still bound to me.”
Baylee’s breath came ragged. “I’m bound to no one.”
