Alester roared a roar I'd only ever heard once before, in my deadliest of nightmares. "I'll take you back out of her for this. You'll be dead, shadow." Alester threatened. 3 minutes now. Why is time moving so slow? "You'll never catch us again." Shade's voice came out of my mouth, combined with my own. "Alester, your days are numbered and I will gladly send you back to hell."

And he was confused more than ever about how it happened. ‘This is bad!’ he thought, raising his hand to transport the energy on his time-space, but the needles prevented him from moving. “Damn!” Mr. Heirt summoned his shadow. He twisted his arms to force a life-energy out of his shadow and used it to create a three-dimensional square that caged him and the others inside. His gestures were on-point when the ball of light expanded. His shadow, meanwhile, formed a dome to protect Blame from the explosion. And then came a light brighter than a thousand fireflies. Everyone was left closing their eyes as its beam blinded them, though they did hear a loud crack from the barrier.

“If he ever wanted to change career, don’t forget to hit me up. I can knock down a couple of warm meals to commemorate his change of heart.” He snapped his fingers, “I know you don’t mean it, still, the thought counts. I’ll hit you up if anything.” Shadow raised her hand as a farewell before escaping from the door without looking back. But then, she stopped. “I have already set time on them. You can play with them as many times as you want.” “How many hours do I have to feel this thick ass?” He slapped the man’s butt which led to the lewd scream by the first man.

"He was a predictable, short-sighted obstacle driven by vanity and fear. You can bargain with fear, Liam. You can manipulate vanity. The Shadow is different. It doesn't operate on political logic, territorial ambition or economic leverage. It is an apex hunter tracking a specific frequency." With a swift swipe of her thumb, she activated the sync-pad. A translucent blue holographic map of the high northern ridges bloomed into life above the scarred oak table, casting a cool azure glow over their faces. Several tracking nodes along the outer perimeter were blinking with erratic fading gray signals. Liam leaned over the map, his massive frame effectively blocking the ambient chill of the room

"What about Shadow?" I had hardly finished speaking when he started to shake his head in the negative. "Nah, it can't be him. “If we’re using your logic Ashton, how would the killer have stayed out of sight then? People were already in the café. It would have been impossible to stay hidden” A sharp exhale suddenly left Ashton as his hand shot out to pause the footage. “Maybe they didn’t need to stay hidden.” He swore. “Fuck, why hadn’t I realized this?” Maya came closer to study the screen. “There.” Ashton pointed to a spot on the tiled floor of the café that was darker than the rest. “A shadow.” Maya breathed. “Fucking hell. The killer is a Shadow.” I stated with unequalled shock. Shadows had no shadows in their human form but when they wanted to stay hidden, it was all they were– Shadows.

If only that was what happened. "And ever since, the conjurers, we call them that instead of scientists, have been trying to find someplace where they could transport the Shadows. And all they could find is the Shore, the controller of everything. Time, especially. They plan to lock the shadows in the past. But they couldn't because the priests wouldn't let them in since the Shore would be contaminated. And if the Shore is contaminated, the planet will be, too." There were murmurings. Now this was news.
