Shadows of Deception

Shadows of Deception

I needed something, anything to pin me to my brother's location. I was on the verge of tears already. A strange folder caught my eye. Opening it I saw some peculiar kinds of stuff. Drug trade transactions? Italian Mafia reports? What the heck!? There was another folder that hooked my eyes. It was the draft of a partnership with some guy named Alberto Del Rio, and Daniel Grey…? My…. Brother? God no! Daniel? The door creaked and I shot my eyes to it. The voices downstairs were getting much like an activity or something was happening.

 UNWED AND EXPECTING

UNWED AND EXPECTING

**Secrets in the Shadows** Sophia sat by the window, staring out into the distance as the evening sun dipped below the horizon. She held the journal tightly in her lap, its worn cover whispering of untold mysteries and forgotten truths. The room was silent, save for the gentle ticking of the old grandfather clock that had stood in the corner of the room for generations. Her thoughts swirled with Eleanor’s cryptic warnings, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that they were stepping into something far beyond what they had ever imagined.

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

Letters in the Shadow

Letters in the Shadow

Written in elegant, flowing black ink was a single line: "The past does not sleep in this town, Sarah... and your father knows the price." I dropped the paper onto the wooden desk as if it had burned my skin. Cold sweat broke out across my forehead. Gabriel’s dark warnings echoed relentlessly in my mind. He was watching my every move. He could reach into my school bag, walk into my house, and touch my life whenever he pleased.

THE SHADOWBORN LUNA

THE SHADOWBORN LUNA

I am what you could be," the shadow said. "What you should be. Unlimited. Unchained. Free." "Free to destroy everything I love." "Free to stop pretending you are something you are not." The shadow circled me. "You chain yourself with mercy. With compassion. With love. But those chains make you weak. Vulnerable." "They make me human." "You are not human." The shadow's smile was cruel. "You are Shadowborn.

Moonbound: The Rise Of The Alpha

Moonbound: The Rise Of The Alpha

he began. “Here we go again,” Mason muttered under his breath. Corin ignored him, pulling a weathered journal from his pack. The leather cover was cracked with age, and the pages inside were filled with strange symbols and drawings. “This belonged to someone I traveled with years ago,” Corin explained. “Someone who studied the shadow and the forest’s magic. He believed the shadow wasn’t just a force of destruction it was a response to something deeper. Something older.” “What are you saying?” Dani asked, leaning forward.

In Her Shadow

In Her Shadow

Jennifer had weaseled her way into a top university, but her old habits died hard; she played hooky more than she hit the books. Predictably, she flunked out, diploma-less after four wasted years. Then, with no prospects, she was slinging burgers and fries. That kind of grind would break her spirit in no time. So, she had her sights set on me again. She wanted to trade her greasy spoon gig for my grad student grind. I hung up and eyed the calendar. In 36 hours, my advisor and I would unveil our findings. A steely resolve took hold of me. If they would not back off, I would have to hand it all to Jennifer, every last bit of my hard-earned success and the mess she had made.

His Mate, His Enemy

His Mate, His Enemy

The parchment is brittle, the ink faint. Carefully, I unroll it. My breath catches. “This one’s different,” I say. Lucien steps closer again. “What does it say?” I scan the lines, my heart beginning to pound. “It’s not just describing it,” I say. “It’s… explaining it.” “Explaining how?” he asks. “How it can be stopped.” The words hang in the air. Lucien goes completely still. “Read it,” he says. I swallow hard. “‘The shadow can not be destroyed by force alone. It is bound to the hatred it feeds upon and thus can not be severed by singular power.’”

In the Shadow of Lies

In the Shadow of Lies

Andrew had willingly given up all his assets, including real estate and shares, to me without conditions. And finally, there was a note. His familiar handwriting met my eyes. "Don't refuse, Eleanor. I promise you. I will never appear in front of you again. May you be as free as the wind and always be happy." I smiled. For the first time, I felt a sense of release. He had finally understood what I truly needed. I tore the note into pieces as if erasing every trace of pain and memories that bound us. Then, I took a sip of coffee, letting the faint bitterness linger on my tongue as I savored the taste.
