~ Liana ~ The café buzzed with its usual energy. The rich scent of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the air, but honestly, I barely noticed it anymore. It had been three weeks since my world had fallen apart. The scandal that once dominated the news had faded, slipping from the headlines. Yet, the whispers and sideways glances remained. People still recognized me. Customers would exchange quiet comments, thinking I was too preoccupied to hear. I put on a calm smile and focused on my work—pouring coffee, balancing trays, wiping down tables. Each movement was intentional, careful, and controlled.

The air shimmered around her hand until the Luminis Shard came into view. Candice’s face went pale. “A Luminis Shard…” she whispered, staring wide-eyed at the now visible crystal. Candice took a shaky step back as if the shard itself radiated danger. “Are you insane?! Where did you get something like that? These things shouldn’t even exist anymore!” Uriel’s brows furrowed. “What’s a Luminis Shard?”

The battlefield was already trembling from Serena’s crown of shadows when the sky itself began to break. Cracks like silver veins spread across the face of the moon. Wolves raised their heads instinctively, howls caught in their throats. Then, with a sound like the shattering of glass heard through water, a piece of the moon tore free and fell. The shard was enormous—bright as a thousand suns, yet cold, burning the eye not with heat but with purity. It streaked downward, a comet of white fire tearing across the heavens. The moment it struck the earth, the world convulsed.

“It’s a tether to the timelines that were never meant to converge. Echoes of realities that refused to collapse. And now… they’re breaking through.” Evryn felt a coldness settle in her chest. “If this is true, it means the convergence wasn’t the final merge,” she said. “It was the first.” Aurex’s voice darkened. “And those echoes… they could be corrupted. Untethered from reality, with no consequence.” Elara nodded. “I’ve seen one already. A figure calling himself The Shard. He exists in fragments—across every broken outcome. And he wants the Core... or what’s left of it.”

Vanessa took off the sunglasses that covered almost half of her face. Her beautiful eyes were very charming and glittery. It has been seven years, and that was the first time someone was calling her by her real name. After she divorced Lucas Hayes, she left the country without telling most people where she was going, including Becky, her best friend. Becky was the only closest friend to Vanessa. She had gotten when she had not been able to contact Vanessa and couldn't find her at all.

The Mirror of Echoes stood tall, its surface rippling like liquid silver. Embedded in its frame was the shard, glowing with an otherworldly light.

Golden arrows slowly emerged, timidly trying to chase away the shadows of the night. The great fire disc made its appearance. First, it emerged as a red line growing wider and wider until it rose victorious into the angelic blue sky, ready to stretch its arms over the whole earth. It tamed its color slightly, becoming comforting as it shyly soaked up the night frost with which you would think it was soothing its own color.

**This is the third book in the Guardians Next Generation Series. It can be read as a standalone book but will have references to events that occurred in Shattered Bonds. This book will run in a parallel timeframe to Shattered Bonds. Events in this book will overlap with events in that book. Maeve Three Years Ago

My knees and waist were like being remodeled and I was experiencing intense pain. I couldn't continue to run and I bent over, placing my hands on the ground and went down on my knees, writhling in pain. I couldn't care about running or escaping again. I remained there for a long time until I felt the pain has greatly reduced. Deciding to stand on my feet again, I tried standing and lifting my hands with the intention of shaking the dirts away when I saw what my hands looked like. It wasn't my hand but my limbs. I saw long claws in place of fingers. I couldn't stand erect on my legs. I ran briskly and the speed with which I was running I couldn't imagine.

“So what are they trying to accomplish?” “Well apparently there are seven elements that make up something super strong, they are not sure what you are yet, they are working on it.” She said chewing her food. “They thought making you bound to Dremis would help him find out more about you, but it just made you sick so nothing helped.” “Good, I thought he was going to be in my head.” She said taking a deep breath. “We need to get our magic shields up, make it harder for him to get to us again,”
