The Shining Armor Infection Novels & Stories

The infection had taken hold, and he was now a shadow of his former self, a monster driven by a hunger for destruction. Lucas's eyes snapped open, his gaze locking onto Athena with a feral intensity. He snarled, baring his teeth, and launched himself at her with a vicious growl. Athena, caught off guard, stumbled backward as Lucas attacked. She raised her hands, trying to defend herself, but Lucas was too strong. He pinned her to the ground, his jaws snapping wildly, mere inches from her face. Zephyr rushed forward, shouting, "Lucas, no! Fight it!" But Lucas was beyond reason, consumed by the infection's madness.

"That is where Aidan moved the primary lab. It is the only building with a dedicated power grid and independent oxygen scrubbers." Sora adjusted the grip on his knife. He could see them. At least twenty tactical officers in full Corvin gear. They weren't just guards. They were wearing specialized silver-mesh armor designed to reflect Shifter attacks. He felt the frequency in his blood surge, humming against the back of his neck where Vardan had burned the tracker. The scar was tight, pulling at his skin, a constant reminder of the parasite that had lived inside him. "The armor they wear has a weakness," Vardan said, his voice a low rumble beside Sora’s ear. "The joints at the neck and the ba

The shimmering light on the rings continued to pulsate like genuine heartbeats, as if it were a living person with a pounding heart. Rain stared at the armored guy, unable to fathom the bounds of insanity. Creed had been up on the hill just a second before, and now he was standing next to her, wearing the same battered Armor that Nakiya had provided him. The armor was horribly damaged on both sides, almost to the point where his clothing and Kevlars could be seen. His palms and forearms were also entirely exposed. The soul armor apparently required additional time to heal within his mental palace. "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?" Rain yelled at the top of her lungs,

From the bunker people and soldiers scream as they are either turned into infected or eaten by wolves. Running through the narrow bunker streets, I'm about to reach the motor pool when something jumps out and lunges at me. Screaming as the two of us crash into a wall, I look and see an infected in body armor. Throwing its head, the infected tries to bite me but I place my hand on its forehead and keep it back.

With every scraping stroke of his nails, a cut opens only to be repaired immediately by the power of the amulet, and as it heals, I feel a rush of pain along my upper arm. A trickle of blood seeps from where the flesh burns, new wounds opening with each swipe of his fingertips. The shield of shadows is powered by the same stuff that makes my body take its shape–my inner void. Which means that every time he strikes or the others push, it is causing damage to my body and using my energy reserves.

Shawn moved fast, checking her pulse, lifting her eyelids, muttering something under his breath as he prepared a set of syringes. “She’s burning up,” he murmured. “Her body’s fighting… something deep.” I stood back, pacing, my fists clenching and unclenching. The silence in the room was deafening. Minutes stretched like hours until he finally looked up. His eyes behind the mask were grim. “CK…” “What?” “She’s infected.” I froze. “What?” He nodded once. “Not only did Romanov inject her with the breeding serum, a biochemical mix of lycan amplifiers, hematoxic binders, and *

He started to reload, but his quivering hands dropped most of the bullets. Two more infected barreled down the hallway towards us, but something else was running behind them—a speeding shadow, too quick to clearly see. Sven? My throat tightened at the thought of his infection . . . but then his wristblade jammed through the back of one creature’s head. The blade’s tip came out through its face, clean through the brain. Then Sven moved on to the other creature, slicing both of his blades through its head at once.

Then he crushed it. Whoosh! Shards of sharp blades darted outward, and four of the assassins instantly staggered backward with pale expressions on their faces. They did not collapse, but each one of them had a dark expression on their faces as blood trickled down from the corners of their mouth. Harvey slightly frowned and nodded instantly. "I see. You're all wearing Silk Armor, giving you resistance toward melee weapons as well as from the heat and cold. However, even if they're not dead, they're no longer at peak condition, right? Gilmat, your sword formation can't do anything to me now."

A gold necklace dangled from his hand, and the reeking smell of whatever was inside the charm made William back away, a scowl on his face. "What the hell is that?" William demanded when Paoli crossed the room and slipped the necklace over Amber's head. "Wolfbane," Paoli said over his shoulder. As the trio stood watching, the transformation gradually slowed. Several minutes later, it stopped completely, and Amber was left in exhausted human form. She crumpled in on herself. One last moan escaped her lips before she fell into a blissful state of unconsciousness. Relief washed through Emily with enough force to make her knees weak. "You fixed her," she whispered breathlessly, her eyes tearful.

They formed a loose circle around us, cutting off any path of escape. I slowly backed away from Clara, keeping my eyes on Milo. Two infected stepped forward and bent down, hooking their arms under Clara's shoulders. They lifted her from the ground, and she stood there, using them for support, her body still weak from the beating I had given her. Milo's soft whimper broke my heart. Another infected stepped forward. In its hands, it carried a set of shackle chains. Coated in the same dark substance I recognized from the basement. Wolfsbane. The infected threw them at my feet, and they landed with a heavy clank.
