The snowman had the classic coal buttons down its front, stick arms extending outward in a welcoming gesture, and a carrot nose. But the eyes—I leaned closer—the eyes were made of dark moon berries, not the traditional coal. "But where did the snow come from?" I murmured, reaching out to touch it. It was cold and wet, already beginning to melt in the spring warmth. "Someone must have brought it down from the Northern mountains," Emma suggested, circling the snowman with a critical eye.
