Except for some minor shaping and adding the decorations, the snowman was done! Leesa stepped back and admired their creation. It was taller than any of them—at least six feet tall—with a big, bulging lower section. Just the way a snowman should look, she thought—big and fat. All their digging had created a small clearing around the snowman, making it stand out even better in the courtyard full of such deep snow. She couldn’t wait until they finished decorating it. She liked it so much she decided she would even donate one of her scarves to wrap around its neck.

Snow had fallen for two days, not continuously but intermittently. The grounds were covered in a thick layer of snow, though the servants had cleared paths that made walking possible. The orchids were in full bloom, but buried beneath the snow. With a kick, the snow would scatter, and the flowers would flutter down along with it. Amid the sea of white, with purple petals drifting down, Carissa and Ryan had built a snowman. Kael tried helping roll snowballs but mostly just threw snow everywhere, laughing at the white powder exploding around him. "I helping!" "You're doing great, baby." Kyle joined us after finishing morning pack business, bringing hot chocolate in a thermos. Together we built a lopsided snowman that Kael declared perfect. "Best snowman ever!" Even though he was making a childish snowman, he still exuded an air of nobility. The snowman was fat and tall, looking very cute. Daisy looked at it and laughed. "Haha, it's so cute."
