"And something big happened. I don't know what will be your reaction to this but you'll probably gonna hate me after you hear all of what I am going to tell you." I raised my eyebrow at him. "Get to the point already and start spilling the beans". I grunt. "Okay fine." He said and started narrating. The first of his stories are nice and I am actually enjoying it and smiling here and there. But then he paused. "I don't think I should narrate furthur." I grunt in frustration. "Come on!". I totally losed it and smack him in the arm. "Finish what you started!" I demanded with emphasis.

Then, "We have a problem with the background story we created for you." My brows furrowed. "What problem? Everything seems fine to me." “Yeah, I thought of it and realized it will bring a lot of problems in the future even though it hasn't started now. Remember the man we are after his daughter is always so careful and may request that every teacher's history is checked properly.” He sighed, and I was getting bored. “Tell me why you called.” I seethed. "So, you need to fall in love with someone, start a public relationship, and eventually propose."

He hadn't said a word since I started blurting out details of my life in the past year to him. “I just…I don't know what to say, Nazlynn. Guns, murder…. torture? I don't understand how you got roped into any of these,” he said disbelievingly. I sighed, switching the position of the phone to my other ear so I could turn on the bed. “This whole thing started with Father, and now he's nowhere to be found.” He asked me a couple of expected questions, which I answered as best as I could. “Are you happy? Right now?”

She cupped his face and was about to tell him that he doesn’t have to tell her anything, but before she could say anything he leaned forward to press his lips over hers. He pulled away and rested his forehead over hers, “I want to tell you Cara, let me do it”. She wrapped her arms around him and he instantly shoved his face into her neck, holding her tightly. After few minutes he pulled away. “My story is divided into two parts” he paused and she waited for him to continue with a loudly beating heart. “Let’s start with part one….” *** Past… Tonight is the night of Christmas. I should have left him in the ruins and pretended I never heard those words. But I didn't, because deep down, I knew, I had always known. Something inside me had been waiting for this moment, for this answer, and I wasn’t ready for it to be a lie. "What story?" I asked. He was silent for a long moment. Then, finally, he said, "The only one that matters." I was eager to hear this so I took a slow step forward. "Then tell me." "You are the beginning." My chest is heavy. "The beginning of what?"

Predictably, she snatched it up as soon as she settled into a sofa and began munching. “This is really good,” she said with a nod. “Now speak.” Slowly, I took the seat across from hers, and began to wrack my brains on where to begin. So much had happened in the last couple of weeks that it was hard to even pick out a starting point. In the end, I chose to start from the beginning, and so I told her everything starting from the night of my escape. Anya did not interrupt me. Even when she finished her sandwich, she simply dusted the crumbs off her fingers into the plate and sat back to listen with rapt attention.
