Romans & histoires The Tell Tale Heart Short Story

she murmured, leaning her forehead against the crisp linen of his shirt, hiding her face from his analytical gaze so he couldn't trace the deceit in her eyes. Beneath the soft fabric, she could hear the heavy, steady thud of his heart. It sounded completely steady, completely unbothered by the complex web of lies he was weaving around her mother's murder. It was the heartbeat of a man who believed he was completely in control of the narrative, entirely unaware that the analyst in his arms had already solved the true equation.

I sat with that for a long time after her breathing slowed. Then I unfolded the note. The handwriting was small and deliberate not the attendant’s. Too careful. Too old. *The girl carries the flame and does not know it. Guard her well, last prince. They are already coming.* I read it twice. Then I held it over the candle flame and let it burn. Outside, somewhere in the dark street below, a horse whinnied sharply once and went silent. I was at the window in three seconds. The street was empty. Blaze stood tied to the post below, ears flat, completely still. But the shadows at the far end of the street were wrong. Too thick. Too deliberate. We were out of time.

I abandoned the first drawer and pulled the next, my heart hammering against my ribcage. He had instructed me on the words to write to whoever that was and left, he had been gone for almost thirty minutes and that granted me the certainty that he might not be coming back soon. I could hear my heart beating loudly as I stared at different hazardous objects arranged in a transparent case lying in the second drawer. I let go of the drawer and stepped back when I noticed a gun beside the case. Was he a serial killer or what? I should shut the drawer and leave, but my curiosity about Tobias Hawkeye wasn’t something I could fight.

I heard a very familiar voice but as I was very scared, I did not recognize it. The man opened the safe and the mighty heart started beating wildly. It felt as if someone was beating a big drum widely. I covered both of my ears as the man went closer. He touched the mighty heart and screamed loudly in pain. The mighty heart had burned his hand. He fell on the ground and started thrashing as if he was a fish out of water. Without looking at them at all, I crawled out of the room. I opened the door and crawled out. Someone screamed to catch me. I stood up and started running. It all felt so real. I did not know but I felt the heat of the mighty heart inside me.

"Okay, I had to take my breath there. So, the peoples' cries alerted Generosasis, with nothing left in her heart but hatred and the cloud above her eyes sprouted by betrayal— she couldn't decipher anything but follow her instincts. She roared in anger, and a ball of fire rolled out of her enormous mouth, hitting the houses across the library. That night, some generations perished, and hundreds of people died, Dordin being one of them. Generosasis murdered the man she claimed to love, she murdered her sister and a dozen families. Now, Deborah, that is the tale of Dordin, what do you think about it?" I cleared my throat, "I think it's the most fascinating story, I also think Dordin's story sho

He tightened his hold around me to support me. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath. That was the hardest part that I needed to tell him. "It was then I saw someone unknown in my hospital bedroom. He rose from under my bed. He was tall with dark hair perfectly combed backwards. His eyes were glowing and they were red. He was scary and I don't know how but I could see him. I saw him pulling out the blood needle. He stabbed the other side of the like right into his heart and let the thin pipes fill with his red glowing blood. Then he stabbed the needle right into my heart." I said in a low tone. I shivered as I remembered his terrifying face.

Knelling before his victim, he took down his stiff from layers cap and dipped it into the spilled blood of the poor human, whose throat was completely ripped out. Our suspicions were confirmed, it was a red-cap. His greenish skin glittered from the specks of blood reflecting the moonlight. The thick liquid dripping off brown greasy hair. The view was to say at least disgusting, but there was no time for complaining. So, steadying my heartbeat I stepped forward as silent as possible, holding onto the shadows, sneaking up to him. Busy with the corpse he didn’t notice my approaching right away. But when only 3 meters separated us, he froze.

The vertical pupils in the skinny old man’s eyes moved slightly. Poof! He stretched his hand fiercely to make a grab all of a sudden. The man’s half-stepped Tribulation Crossing body abruptly paused as he looked at the spot where his heart was in disbelief. At this moment, he discovered that his heart had been dug out alive. The skinny old man held the scarlet heart in his hand, and it was still beating constantly. This scene was too bloody and gruesome. The American Defense Bureau experts at the back retreated and let out screams of terror.

His partner nodded at his words, swiftly swinging his dagger towards the boy's neck, intent on decapitating the boy in one fluid motion- quick and painless. "What the…" Hardly had he finished his statement when he felt a hand reach into his chest. It passed through his muscles and bones as though there were none there and latched onto his heart. He watched in horror as the supposedly decapitated head remained neatly on his target's shoulders, and his own heart was ripped from his chest. He watched in despair as the one they had taken for a sitting duck opened his eyes and crashed his heart. Only, the bright blue eyes were visible no longer. Only a darkness that seemed to suck the soul in man

Albert grunted as he grabbed his hair, his eyes darkened as he thought of the message he got from His men, saying that one of his subordinate was killed and his heart was no where to be found. The only Person who kills and take the heart of the prey is Lincoln, everybody of their existence knew about that,Lincoln was the only killer who takes the heart before sucking on the neck. Albert was so angered that once again,Lincoln took what was his. "I'll destroy him!" He gritted as his eyes turn blood shot. He slowly got up from the ground, his tall frame looked charming as he walked towards the table close to his bed. He grabbed the transparent glass jar on the table and he poured the red liquid on
