It wasn’t chaos. It wasn’t primal at all. It looked... peaceful. “This is it?” I asked, sitting up straighter.

Damon was obviously not coming back this night so it was safe to bring the book out. I covered myself with the blanket and spread out the book in front of me, quickly flipping the page to where I stopped. The cold ones. There was always a chill that went through me when I read it out loud but I brushed it off as always. I continued reading about the two sons that had been brought back to life, the more the villagers tried to get rid of them the more villagers died at every waking dawn. In a space of two months the entire village was dead but that was not the problem.

When we arrived at this small village called the Village of Sorghum, the last thing I was anticipating was anyone needing my help. It was supposed to be a peaceful and quiet village where they grew and sold sugarcane that was used around our nation. The last thing I expected was to find several pillars of smoke rising from buildings located within the central area of the village.

Villagers were known for their craftsmanship, from artisans who crafted delicate pottery to bakers renowned for their crusty, golden loaves of bread. The village square served as the heart of Cedarbrook, a gathering place for festivals, markets, and joyful celebrations that brought everyone together.

Alora Village was an ancient village on the outskirts of a primeval forest. It wasn't governed by any counties. Since poisonous plants and insects surrounded it, people rarely ventured to the village. In the past, Joel was brought into the village by his mentor. He could still remember how to enter the village. There was a layer of miasma surrounding the village. There were cliffs and precipices to the northern side. If regular people tried entering the village, they would either be killed by poisonous insects or the miasma.
