Whenever Nina says she doesn't want to eat, Lucien's stern eyes make her open her mouth. Nina thinks she's never been so full. She eats most of the food on the table. The dessert is walnut milk with crystal sugar. Nina doesn't eat walnuts since she was a child. She hates the taste of walnuts. This time she is forced by Lucien to eat more than half of it. She wrinkles her face in agony. She says she is full and can't eat at all. Lucien just lets Nina go.

Chapter 13: Sanaya’s P.O.V Lancelin Eustein, the CEO of ReefWood Inc. and the future King of all Incubi in the planet…had a sweet tooth. His basket was filled with Twix bars, Oreos, M&M’s, KitKats and Reese’s as we neared the cash register. I tried to hold in my laugh when laugh when Lancelin peeked into my cart to see what I’d gotten and saw his disappointed frown when he found only cheeses, some Doritos and some hot pockets. There were also some spice roasted hazelnuts and pistachios thrown into the mix, as well as a pack of dried cranberries. They would all pair very well with some Barbera or some Pinot.

Gale also knew what she was going to face and was very calm, not surprised at all. Winnie originally wanted to torture her. There are about thirty walnuts in a bag, and they are the kind with a very hard shell. She squatted beside her and slowly cracked the walnuts one by one. It was as if she owned the place and Jessica was just passing through. Anthony said nothing to set the record straight. Jessica ignored the jab and took a seat. Linda got up and handed her a bowl of mushroom walnut soup. "Try it, I made it myself." One look and Jessica saw the walnuts lurking at the bottom. She had been allergic her whole life; one bite could be deadly. "Sorry, I can't eat walnuts," said Jessica, pushing the bowl away. Linda's face crumpled, tears welling up as she turned to Anthony.

He hadn't known about the things Wendy had gone through. Right then, Wendy approached him, her voice calm and casual. "Mr. Gondale, are you hungry?" What? Benny was taken aback by her strange question. A moment later, Wendy smiled and added, "If you're thirsty, you should eat some walnuts. It's good for your brain." And with that, she walked away. "Pfft." Cecelia let out a quiet laugh before following Wendy. Benny, now snapping back to reality, blinked in confusion. She wanted him to eat some walnuts for his brain? Did she really think he was that much of an idiot?

Help. After a while, the eggs sizzled softly in the pan, bread toasted beside them, and the oats warmed in a pot, with a splash of almond milk, a pinch of cinnamon, and some crushed walnuts. It wasn't a big deal. Just breakfast. But for Lennox Graves, it was the first gesture he'd made that wasn't driven by guilt, anger, or instruction. Just... his own will.

Is it an apple or a pear?” He held up the green apple, and Rain found herself staring in wonder as she realized they’d never had fruit before. Ever. In their whole lives.

Just as she attempted to push herself up, a nurse entered to change her IV and quickly stopped her. "You just got out of the ER. You can't move around. Let me get that for you." The nurse kindly handed her the phone while switching out the IV bag. "Don't you know you're severely allergic to walnuts? You need to remember this from now on—never eat anything with walnuts. You're lucky they brought you in when they did, or you'd be dead." Winona did not know how to respond. What was she supposed to say? That her son knew about her walnut allergy and deliberately chose a walnut cake anyway?
