The Wendigo Book Novels & Stories

Becoming a rogue wolf seemed like the perfect solution, but it turned me into a fugitive, always running and never having a day of rest. My body ached from the constant running and shifting, but I kept pushing myself. I couldn't let them catch me. I knew what would happen if they did. I had heard stories of rogue werewolves who were captured and killed by their packs. That was not the kind of ending I hoped for, so I kept running. The full moon was drawing nearer, its pull growing stronger with each passing moment. Very soon, I would have to shift and let the wolf take over, but that was the last thing I wanted at that moment. I pushed myself to stay human and kept running.

I need to know more about them, about their lives, and what it's like to be a we're. “What are we watching?” I whisper to Jacob, hoping he can hear me. A smirk grows on his face, "no use in whispering, baby. We can all hear you easily. We're watching Elwi. It's about a woman who escapes prison to find her son." I nod as I pop some of the Sour Patch kids into my mouth, feeling my face twist at the sour flavors mixing on my tongue. An arm snakes around my shoulder, pulling me closer to Jacob. His arm is muscular. I feel so safe wrapped up in his body. You would think werewolves would be cold, but Jacob is damn warm.

I smiled and nodded. "Give me a minute; I'll be right back." She gave me the book and went away. I searched through the colorful book for more pictures until they were through while waiting for her to return. Soon I started on another book in the box. Unfortunately, most of the books were just words, and I could not read them yet. As I was about to give up searching for more books with pictures, I found one. I opened it, and I was surprised to see what it was all about. I couldn't read, but the picture of a white wolf with the same marking as mine allowed me to know that this book was not any ordinary book. It was a book about my pack, The River Pack Members.

Xavier 's pov I was sitting in my office library engrossed in my work . Different cases require different references to various clauses and sectons of warewolf penal codes . My library consists of multiple books ranging from legislatures,civil law books to historic fictions. You name a book at it will be here in my library. I got up from my seat and searched through the multiple shelfes looking for the red covered book which has a case similar to the present one at my hand.

A small smile crept across my lips. One of the treasures I gained from helping that foolish woman… Morrisa. I hovered the amulet against the wound. Warm energy spread through my arm. The flesh began knitting itself together. Few minutes later… The wound was gone. Just as the healing finished, a howl echoed through the forest. Not one of mine. Celdor’s wolves had found my scent. I chuckled darkly. “Good.” I reached beneath my cloak and pulled out a small bottle, then drank its contents slowly.

I rushed towards them and concentrated on my sense of sight to identify the perpetrator. Then I saw it. It was the beast of night and day. One that history had written about. The beast, called the Wendigo. I have never seen one, only read about them in books and scrolls. Wendigos were werewolves who had turned off their humanity, hunted, and killed their own. They are strictly carnivores and they feed on their own kind. They had no trace of logic in them but the worst thing was they could only complete their shift by dark magic.

I left the volume that I was reading and came over and took a look. “Is that it?” I asked, I had never seen it before, only Damon had. “Yes,” he nodded and tapped his finger on the picture of the monster. I looked at the name – it was called a Wendigo! “A wendigo,” I muttered. “That’s the fucker…” he said. “What’s this down here?” I pointed to the description printed at the bottom, and read. “Wendigo are dead cursed wolves, their souls are trapped in their body and they are vengeful. The curse can only be broken by the Blood of a Goddess.”

Joshua stood and crossed the room, "and might I even say zombified. Could it be possible it's two different species we working with here?" I let out a long breath. This conversation was going no where. "They are the same," I said and all of them turned to look at me. "A wendigo is an animal or human that's been murdered in cold blood and has not had a proper burial. I can't explain what brings them back from the dead, but when they do come back they take revenge on the living." "Ah," Levi grinned, "once a hunter always a hunter." "So what do you need me to do?" Alex inquired. "Kill them?"
