A Woman in Despair

A Woman in Despair

The screen flickered to life, showing a woman with seductive, half-lidded eyes, whom I recognized as me. The video was recorded in a familiar setting—the clinic, during one of Rodrick's treatments for my illness. A woman's moan came from the video. I looked at the two of them and asked, "What do you want to do?" Colby took a step forward. "You've got to help us out, Brianna. You're a huge hit on foreign internet sites now, and men are crazy about you." He held up his hand and named a figure. "We'll give you this much for one night."

The Woman Who Stayed

The Woman Who Stayed

Who had been reaching for something she could not name because the naming would have required confronting things she was not yet ready to confront. What she felt at this window now was different from that. Was not a longing. Was a satisfaction. The particular quiet satisfaction of a woman who had done something difficult and done it honestly and found that the doing of it had produced something real — in herself, in the book, in the room of women who had been waiting for it, in the woman in the front row who had read it four times and needed to see that she was real. She was real. Standing at this window in this city.

GAME OF ALPHAS

GAME OF ALPHAS

The same woman who stood by the window, her silhouette framed against the clearing beyond. She was still—almost eerily so—her fingers grazing the barricaded window as if reaching for something beyond it that couldn’t be seen, or someone. Her long black hair cascaded down her back, giving her the structure of a perfect portrait of how still she was. She was dressed in a simple white nightgown and nothing else. Her whole focus was outside the window, hating the fact she was kept locked like a prisoner, her sense of freedom inhibited by this barricade, one she so desperately wanted to claw at.

How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

the woman’s voice screeched from behind me. I stood up and turned around. The woman was leaning out of the window with a large cleaver in her hand. She had a gaunt, stretched face, but looked like a normal human female. “Who are you? What do you want?” “Nothing,” I said. “I’m lost. Really, I don’t know where I am. I don’t mean you any harm.” She eyed me suspiciously. “How long were you out here? What did you hear?” “Nothing. I didn’t hear anything.” I didn’t sound very convincing.

He's Not the Alpha

He's Not the Alpha

No one wants an avalanche to come tumbling down the mountain side, forcing them out in the cold. I walk around the small room checking windows, doodling on the glass to pass the time. A woman suddenly appears, her hand against our window and I take a step back, even as there's an entire partition that's keeping me in and her out. She's just staring at me, chills sliding down my neck when her eyes move almost robotic like, travelling the length of me, only pausing at my covered stomach.

A Dangerous Atrophy

A Dangerous Atrophy

She went to wash herself up then sat down quietly to eat the breakfast that he brought back. In the open kitchen, the man moved deftly as he washed the vegetables and cooked dishes. The woman was eating her warm breakfast quietly in front of the bar. The house was warm and blissful. The woman did not even ask him when the security window was installed. It seemed as though everything was fine. However, every time the woman's gaze swept across the security window, intense disgust and terror would fill the depth of her eyes.

I just finished reading the book, I enjoyed it and found myself looking forward to each chapter. There were moments where it felt neverending and repetitive, nevertheless I can't wait to read the end. In the meantime, I ask other readers what their thoughts of the book and how they hope it will end?

Absolutely amazing! I've been an avid lover of books for my entire life and I can honestly say that this either ties with my favorite novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, or might even surpass it with it's engaging plot, interesting characters, and a writing style that constantly keeps you wanting more

BENEATH THE CRIMSON MOON

BENEATH THE CRIMSON MOON

A real grip from a woman with crimson eyes who called herself her mother and whose voice cracked like it had been crying for years. She got up. Went to the window. Looked down. The wolf was there. Right below her window. Looking straight up at her. Those gold eyes burning steady in the dark, patient and fixed on her face like it had been watching her window all night. She pressed her palm flat against the cold glass. Then she looked at the windowsill. A flower sat on the outside ledge. Dark crimson petals. Almost black at the edges. Fresh and alive on a second floor windowsill with no ledge and no tree close enough to reach. Placed there carefully. On purpose.

The Other Woman

The Other Woman

They walked through the narrow mud lane, passing a few scattered huts with faded paint and thatched roofs. Chickens clucked around their feet, and an old woman gave them a wary glance before returning to her sewing. Bilal led Raghav toward a small hut near the edge of the field—its walls made of baked clay, its windows covered with jute curtains fluttering gently in the mountain breeze. He stepped forward, heart thudding softly, but… the door was closed and window creaked open to emptiness. Dust particles danced in the golden sunlight pouring through the single window.

So This is Love

So This is Love

The city sprawled below restless, glittering, alive. A woman stood by the window, poised and graceful — the kind of beauty that didn’t fade with time, only sharpened. She looked to be in her late forties , maybe fifty at most, elegant in a silk robe the color of wine, her golden hair pinned neatly at the nape of her neck. There was power in her stillness — and danger in the way she smiled. She held a glass of champagne in one hand and, in the other, a photograph. Ivan’s face.
