A FAKE LIFE

A FAKE LIFE

—It means that I feel relaxed enough by your side to forget for a few minutes that the world explodes outside. “The world is not exploding outside. -If it is. My world, at least. "It's changing radically. But it's not exploding. —Well, maybe I'm exaggerating and it's not as catastrophic as I see it—it used to happen to me that I looked at everything as it wasn't.

Once A Luna, Now A Stealer?

Once A Luna, Now A Stealer?

“I've been starting to doubt myself, you know, thinking that my ambition might just be a little ludicrous. Maybe violence was the way of the world. Maybe Qaetanya was right. But then I saw this and was reminded of all the horror I'd seen that made me wonder about the meaning of the way the world initially.” “I quite don't know what came over me to this day. I saw the woman wailing, I saw that child trying to turn his face away from the terrible sight, and the thief who was holding him, forcing him to watch. I saw the despair in their eyes, contrasting with the unimaginable cruelty in the hollering of the men...and I lost it.”

My Foreign Husband

My Foreign Husband

And there you are, running away from my question "I roll my eyes and try to rip my hand out of yours. He just holds it harder. "I'm not running away, Suzy. A person used to tell me that each of us has our own universe in our eyes. That staring at a person's face, most of the time, is like seeing the sky above us. "Your own eyes exhibit an incandescent glow as it guides your attention to the open doors. "I have always found too selfish to surrender to death while there are more than 7 billion heavens to contemplate in the world. So, I think that that night you met me, I decided that I needed to fight for any crumb of hope in my life. I understood that I needed to stay alive to look at a certa

The Destroyer

The Destroyer

I asked, folding my arms. "I asked Diokles to leave. Please, if I saw him as Lord Zeus every day, I'd be unable to keep a straight face." she chuckled softly and walked over, sitting at the table. She placed whatever was wrapped up gently on the table. "A bit of philosophy first, I suppose. Many say that the world is seen through a filter of who we are, what we believe, and what we are," she said. "But what if the world around us controls those things? If the world sees someone as a monster, a murderer, a danger to all... Does that person have the same lens to the world as they would if the world didn't view that person like that?" she asked.

A very good read but the ending was suddenly abrupt. After not having an update for longer than normal, I came to check the comments to see if others were clamoring for updates only to see that the story status now said completed. That said, I hope to see other stories set in this world.

What a brilliant and enjoyable read. Fantastic characters, great storyline, definitely a book I could not put down and would happily keep reading if there were more chapters! Looking forward to reading a sequel very soon in the future, thank you author!

When the World Ended, the Moon Chose Me

When the World Ended, the Moon Chose Me

~ Moxie ~ “I just don’t get it.” I say more to myself than Randall as I pull my eyes away from the microscope, refocusing on the room around me. My eyes are beyond dry…I can feel the redness spreading across the rim of my eyelids. I think I am even past the stage of being able to fall asleep, I would just lay awake staring at the ceiling, all the scientific formulae’s for a cure flashing across my vision. I’m even starting to question whether I am slowly turning mad.

Two Connected Worlds

Two Connected Worlds

Hmmm. I tapped my legs as I sat all alone in the big beautiful room. I guess the people on earth were so lucky because life seemed soo easy here compared to Marazona. I smiled and stood up to feed my eyes. Yes....just to view...I wasn't going to touch anything. I folded my hands behind my back and looked around. Wow!! So many interesting things. Incredible. I smiled as I walked around and my eyes caught something more interesting. Wowww! I gasped and looked at it more intently.

World of Tomorrow

World of Tomorrow

“It will be much like it was at the World’s Fair opening, Evelyn. Simply follow my lead. Can you do that?” Evelyn’s pulse kicked up a notch. Their trip to the World’s Fair had been like visiting an alternate existence. It went beyond simply politely 'familiar'. That had been an imaginary World of Tomorrow where the natural hierarchy and boundaries of wealth and social status had been erased, like the idealized Democracity or the egalitarian Futurama. Where people attracted to one another were free to explore that gift in each other's company without question.

I've barely been able to put this story down. I absolutely love it. I love how descriptive the story is. And it has made me want to have been able to go to that World's Fair. It is a beautiful love story and I can't wait to finish it.

I am only to Chapter 22, but this book is Amazing so far and by far my favorite. I love historical fiction and this piece is a gem. I read the Author's book about Grace and Juliet and just had to jump right into this one as some characters are the same.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Her fingers tightened around his sleeve. For once, Adrian didn't pull away. For once, he looked just as shaken as she felt. Then another pulse rolled across the sky. The golden crack overhead widened. Not by inches. Not by feet. By miles. The entire world seemed to groan. Like a prison door finally beginning to break. And suddenly— everyone saw it. A vision. A glimpse. Another world. Floating islands. Golden oceans. Cities suspended in endless skies. Massive structures stretching beyond the horizon. A place so beautiful it hurt to look at.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS

TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS

ELIZABETH: The world was blurry when I first opened my eyes. My head throbbed like someone had taken a hammer to it, and a deep, dull ache settled in the base of my skull. I blinked rapidly, trying to force clarity back into my vision. It felt as though the air was thick, suffocating, and the room I was in was dimly lit, with shadows creeping up the walls. My arms felt strangely heavy, and it wasn't until I tried to move them that I realized they were bound. Panic surged through me like ice water in my veins.

Worlds Apart

"Don't cry. It tears me up." Asher's face darkened as he watched them. He went public with his bankruptcy that same week. He had once been on top of the world but was now penniless and falling apart. He approached Gwyneth, sounding remorseful. "Things wouldn't have ended up like this if it weren't for Liana, would they?"
