"Are you going to start making sense?" Nova asked.
"Nova," I said, half scolding and half laughing.
Eric stopped walking, causing us to halt as well. He looked at Nova, smiling.
"The world is the most important thing, because it is our home and our only home until we figure out how to make other planets inhabitable. Without the world itself, life as we know it would not exist. That's why," he said, starting to walk again, "we need to take care of the Earth. It's the only home we've got. For now, at least."
