He got in after me, starting the engine with a low growl. As the car sped away from the college and the carnage behind us I stared out the window, numb. “Now you’ve got me intrigued.” My lips curved faintly. “Intrigued?” “How does a thief know how to navigate corporate negotiations and contract presentations?” I let out a quiet laugh. “Just because I’m a thief doesn’t mean I’m dumb.” I continued, “If anything, thieves are some of the smartest people alive.” That earned a quiet laugh from him, low and unexpected. “Is that so?” “Of course,” I replied. “You think stealing is easy? One wrong move and everything falls apart. You learn to think ahead and read people before they read you.”

I approach as well, but I do not enter, I decide to peek through one of the windows and I can see some movement inside through the sheer curtain. There is a man in there. “Oh, here you are. I hope you got something good,” he says. "I didn’t," the Thief complains as she approaches the man sitting on a small couch, “Theodore Heiden fucking showed up while I was in the house. Thanks for the heads up.”

Mika stepped in and throwed five quick punches to the thief, then kicked him on the stomach. “Dont kill him!” said Katleho “We have to, since he refuses to speak.” said Mika. “Sir you have a family right?” Katleho asked,the thief nodded. “Then tell us who sent you and why they wanted you to steal the baby.”

He smoothly steps in front of me, his posture shifting into protection mode. “Do we have a problem?” The man doesn’t even blink. He arches a brow, looking past Javier, staring straight at me. “Move,” he commands. “No.” “I have nothing with you. I’m here for the girl with the mismatched eyes.” Javier folds his arms. “She’s with me.” A much younger guy appears beside the thief, dressed just as handsomely and eyes us. “Any problem, boss?” Boss? “That’s the little thief that stole my money.”

I locate the refrigerator in no distant time and pick a few baked bread crumps. Luckily for me, they're still fresh and warm. I munch greedily into it until my throat demands for water. As I pick up the jug to pour out some chilled water, the lights turn on. I am not expecting anybody to be down here at this moment, so the jug falls from my hand and smashes on the floor. "I said it, a thief is snooping around here!" I turn around to come face to face with Theda. And behind her is Jared, he is looking as scared as a white pussycat.
