Lucia Hill was the only daughter of the Alpha and Luna of the Thunder pack, a pack that was known for its strength, compassion, and resilience.  She had always wanted to help her pack in a more meaningful way but was seen as too fragile because she had a rare medical condition that affected her breathing at times. She was born with it and it was sadly incurable.  This medical condition had a name too long for Lucia to pronounce, and had tried to take her life multiple times. Each time made her parents even more protective of her and made her feel more caged.  Lucia had always been seen by everyone as the sick daughter of the Alpha who needed to be treated with extra care. She was even excluded from almost all physical activities, including training with people her age.  This made her feel like an outcast. It chipped away at her self-confidence and courage.  She knew that all this was because her parents loved her and wanted her to be safe but she wanted more. She wanted so badly not to be seen as weak or fragile. She wanted to show her pack and her parents that she was stronger than they all thought; that she was not held back by her sickness.  But she feared that this was all just a dream of hers. She was very introverted and insecure so she doubted that she could ever prove them wrong.

"Kali, what have you seen?" The other warriors crowded around Kali and I. They were craning their necks to catch a glimpse of the captive. They had never seen such a being before. Most of the stories were passed on by the elders over the many generations. There is this one specific story you are about to hear, or I should say read is about a young woman by the name of Ashley who grew up hearing all kinds of these stories. Three FBI agents surrounded the front door as they pointed their guns at her. Romeo was being held roughly by one of the officers. Hands up in the air, where we can see them. One of the officers said at Cj and her mom. Romeo? How could you? Cj asked as she began to cry. Not another word from you. The female agent said as she went to handcuff her. Nooooo! The mum screamed as the house shattered pushing the officers away back three feet. Romeo held on to Cj for support so he didn't fall. Cj! Run! The mum screamed as a gunshot was heard and she fell to the ground. Mum! Cj screamed as she watched her mum, bleed out on the floor. With a new profound anger she faced Romeo and placed her hand on his head, prepared to kill him but she was shot by the hand. So she was interrupted, Romeo slumped to the floor unconscious and Cj took off, into the forest never to be seen again.

This book is for the people who feel as if they are alone. This book isn’t just about a love story but also about trauma that comes with wanting to be loved. I don’t condone anything that this book is about. This is awareness. Somewhere in this world this happening to so many people. This is for them. For them to know you aren’t alone, you are heard, and it is NOT your fault. These topics need to be talked about. You will fall into their lives, feel connected to at least one of these characters. And some you will despise. You will see everyone’s point of view and what they think. Giving you breaks from certain characters. I hope you love and see the potential within this novel.
