Nina; The real me

Nina; The real me

Henry gave a signal for Clarissa to take the kids to their rooms while he took the next step. Henry glanced through the peephole cautiously. When he recognized the man standing outside, he breathed a slight sigh of relief. It was their neighbor, Mr. Thompson, who lived just three houses down. Henry opened the door slowly, ensuring there were no unexpected surprises waiting behind the familiar face. He wondered what had brought him here, his family just moved here and they barely go out. "Good evening, Mr. Thompson," Henry greeted, attempting to hide the unease in his voice. "Evening, Henry," Mr. Thompson replied, stepping inside quickly. "I hope everything is going smoothly?”

Demon's Evolution

Demon's Evolution

"Grade III? Wow! But I remember you igniting a fire in first grade!" "You deceived the academy, OMG?" "Calm down and thoroughly prepare the meat." "Okay, OK. But dang! That's fantastic!" We happily devour two pieces of pork after roasting them to perfection. "Delicious," Henry mumbled happily as he ate. "Monsters are more delicious than farm animals." "Strange, but understandable." … Several hours later. A massive, four-legged monster was found lifeless on the ground. Henry took a deep breath and turned to face the creature he had just slain.

The Tattoo Artist

The Tattoo Artist

“Henry is washing his hands three times longer than usual! He’s calming himself down! He’s trying not to look like a creep!” Was that… really the case? I watched in the mirror as Henry turned off the faucet, methodically dried his hands, and then pulled on a fresh pair of black gloves. He turned around, and his gaze fell on the lower back I had been covering the whole time; his eyes darkened instantly. My heart shrank. … Henry finished his preparations, secured his gloves, and pushed over a metal trolley that had somehow already been set up. The faint sound of the wheels rolling across the floor filled my ears, almost drowning out the beating of my heart.

The Replacement Wife

The Replacement Wife

CHAPTER 40: FULL CIRCLE Five years ago, I walked down an aisle pretending to be someone else. Today, I finally know exactly who I am. The morning starts the way mornings start now: loud, warm, and slightly chaotic before seven. Daniel and Henry are three years old and have formed a coalition against furniture. They operate as a unit with separate roles: Henry identifies the target and Daniel executes. This morning's target is a couch cushion that has been removed from the sofa and is being used as a sled across the hallway floor. Dominic is on his knees at the bottom of the hallway acting as a human bumper, in yesterday's suit trousers and his good shirt, which he was supposed to have left f

Her Revenge, His Obsession

Her Revenge, His Obsession

Henry’s angry eyes seemed to see through Emma’s trick, he let out an evil laugh and then stepped away from her. “Emma… Emma…” He shook his head looking amused, “You can’t trick me… I am not Peter…” His eyes turned dark again at the mention of his best friend. “David Cooper…” A voice interrupted their interaction, Henry’s smirk widened and he gave an evil look to Emma. “Mr. Thomas… Please come, your present has arrived…” He greeted an old man with great enthusiasm while Emma took a place on the sofa, disgusted by all the men who were looking at her with hunger and lust in their eyes.

Hidden Monarch: The Silent Resurgence

Hidden Monarch: The Silent Resurgence

Cindy said indifferently. "Well said!" Henry responded. "Shall we be friends then?" Cindy extended her right hand again. Henry hesitated briefly but, with a smile, extended his hand. "It's an honor to be friends with you, Ms. Drayson!" "Just Cindy, and I'll call you Henry. How about that?" Cindy said. "No problem!" Henry nodded. He then quickly glanced at the time. It was almost 11:30 A.M., the time of his flight to Hodbridge. He was highly concerned about Lydia's situation.

Mated to Four

Mated to Four

I carried the tray toward the west terrace, the place where Hayden usually spent time with Henry whenever the weather behaved. When I slid the door open, the sight in front of me melted my chest. Hayden was crouched beside Henry, teaching him how to form a snowball. Henry was only three years old, but his small hands were already quick—his enthusiasm even bigger than his tiny body. “Press it gently, not too hard. If it’s too dense, it’ll break,” Hayden said. “But Daddy, this snow is naughty,” Henry complained while trying again. Hayden laughed—low and warm, the kind of laugh that always did something to my heart.

Her Deadly Revenge

Her Deadly Revenge

"Jordon checked your family's house last week, but realized you never got there when he found it empty. He thought it was a long-shot, but Jordon told me to look into this place since it was the last time he saw you. He'll be happy when he finds out how well you're doing here." "Yep, we've been working hard," Thomas said. "I can see that." Harold glanced around our property and looked at his two friends. "We could use a place like this, boys." Harold's big buddies nodded as they appraised our home and land like they wanted to steal it. I squeezed Thomas's side gently to tell him I was getting uncomfortable. Thomas released my shoulder to hang his arm around my neck. "Matt, will you help them

I really got sucked into this book. It was very good. It has nothing to do with wolves, like the blurb above says. It's more like an end of the world type book. Wasn't something I normally read, but I'm glad I did.
Sabrina
The blurb and the title don’t match this book. The story is about a zombie apocalypse, a bunch of strangers that meet and their relationships that develop throughout. I thought the ending was good, but I would love to read a sequel for some much needed closure. Overall, it’s a really good book.

The Loveless Contractive Marriage

The Loveless Contractive Marriage

They joked about everyday annoyances—like pads being out of stock at the store, how toothpaste always seemed to run out at the worst times, and the endless pile of chores waiting to be done. As they cleaned up the living room together, Mira playfully tossed a cushion at Zia. “You know, for someone who just exposed a manipulative jerk, you’re still too nice. You should’ve laughed right in his face!” Zia laughed, catching the cushion. “Maybe next time. He’s bound to mess up again, and when he does, I’ll be ready.” The two friends shared a laugh. Downtown Henry leaned casually against his sleek black car, a cloud of smoke curling from the joint between his fingers. The dim glow of the streetlig

The Beta Killer

The Beta Killer

She jumped her front paws on the counter and licked up the still warm bacon, her wolf voice thanked her before she pushed open the sliding doors that lead to their dining room. Henry was sat at the dining table with his back to her. Theo and Joshua sat opposite, their light brown haired heads bent down over their books. Henry was explaining human money, coins and notes sat on the table in front of the boys' books. Theo the youngest looked up with the door opening and let out a little laugh, his tiny six year old frame was sat on a thick book so he was sat at a better height for the table.
