THE WOLF BENEATH THE FLAME When Thunder Speaks Deep night. Rain lashes the windows of the Omega Quarter. Xavier lies in his small cot, curled in sweat-soaked sheets. Thunder rolls overhead like war drums. The room flickers with every lightning flash. Xavier (groaning, sitting upright, breath sharp): “…not again…” A pulse erupts in his chest—like fire ripping through veins. He clutches his sternum, gasping as a vision seizes him.

I say and bring my attention back to the box on my lap I remove the ribbon holding the box together and gasp out loud when I see what is inside. "Oh-my-god!" I exclaim with surprise "Books!?" Thor says, his tone of voice sounding monotonic. "What!?... Thor! These are not just books!" I say with frustration, wishing I could shake some sense into him. "These are books from my favorite author. I've been wanting to read this series for so long but couldn't because Celine was so mean she would burn them out of spite like she did to the rest of my books!"

His muscles were taut with rage, and his eyes were bloodshot, glowing faintly gold beneath the madness.

“Erica.” Thor let out a low growl from my side as my spine stiffened and I took a shuddering breath of the freezing cold air before I turned around to face him. Thor stepped closer to me, his whole body flushed against my leg. I let my fingers touch his soft fur to calm him down even when my own heart lurched in my chest at the sight of him. Antonio.
