“She’s a werewolf. And not just any werewolf. She's the Alpha of Galahad.” The healer stopped walking, blinking at me. “You mean Alpha, Alpha?” “Yep,” I said, turning to face her. “Galahad, Red Cross, parts of Thorne which is Donovan Pack. Three packs. One woman.” The healer exhaled a low whistle. “And she’s calling me for help?” “Still as humble as ever,” I teased. She shook her head with a chuckle. “I remember when I took her in. She’d lost almost everything. And now she’s leading three packs.”

My eyes move around based on instinct and as if fate is trying to test me, I see the dragon rider book lying on the floor, along with other books that have fallen with his bookshelf. My body tightens. It’s a pretty black colored large book with gold fonts. I had looked for it the other day but Xaden had come in before I could find it. I promised Liam to steal this for him and in return— he would protect my lie. But funny enough, I don’t have a single urge to reach for the book. My attention returns to Xaden limp body. I lower my upper body to his, placing my ear in front of his heart. I can’t hear a single breath. His chest is not moving.

I’m practically aching for him, but I don’t want to give in yet. Not when I’m having this much fun torturing the poor man. “Are you on anything?” he asks me, his mouth hot and wet against my ear. “The pill,” I rasp. “I’m on the pill. Condom?” “Bedroom.” “Then what are you waiting for—” Without warning, Thor stands and brings me along with him, easily throwing me over his shoulder with strength I didn’t know he possessed. Gustavo's throat blobs as he swallows back his shock, but his eyes don't stop moving from me to Xendaya. “What is it?’’ I ask, feeling uncomfortable with his stares. “She healed Thales.’’ He says, referring to Xendaya. That makes me crease my brow. Thales is one of the warriors who were attacked by the wolves from Black fur pack. The one Xendaya rushed at to be exact. How could she heal him in that short time frame?

He raised his hand, as he had gotten the last of the explosives from a soldier, with the explosive lit, he threw it, and released a burst of flames toward Xandros. The fire struck his chest, but Xandro seemed unaffected, merely tilting his head as if amused. Xandros growled, his voice guttural. He lunged forward, but Thorfinn countered with a Quen shield, the impact sending a shockwave through the air. Xandros recoiled slightly, giving Thane enough time to roll away. Despite getting some good hits in Thane fought to stay on his feet, his sword trembling in his gript. Xandros was incredibly fast, his claws raking the air as Thane dodged and countered. But as she got to know him better, she realized that beneath his tough exterior was a kind and compassionate soul. Thor had a way of making Rachel feel comfortable and safe, something she had never experienced before. She could confide in him about her fears and worries, and he would always listen patiently, offering words of encouragement and support. There were times when Rachel felt overwhelmed by the challenges of her life, but Thor was always there to remind her of her strengths and help her find a way forward.

He placed a soft kiss on my forehead. “Are you sure you want to go home and pick up some stuff?” “I won’t have any clothes if not.” “I can take you shopping in the morning to get anything you need.” “What about to sleep in tonight?” “I can lend you a shirt,” his wicked smile was back. “Oh really, What’s with the wicked smile Mr. Thorn?” “Just imagining you in one of my shirts.” “Ok.
