"You have to be Asher," she smiled sweetly, setting the mug down. "Damien's little. project." Asher bristled. "Who are you?" he demanded, tightness. She laughed — a cold, cruel sound. "I'm Veronica Thorne," she announced, standing graciously. "Damien's ex-fiancée." The floor had been knocked from under Asher's feet.
