She zipped up her jacket again, and her gaze swept across the hall, pinning every soul to their seats.
“And what is laughable,” she said, her lips curving into something too sharp to be called a smile, “is that in the eyes of the law… Derrick, the man who bought women, who tortured them, who stole their lives, walked away almost untouched.”
Growls rolled through the audience again.
