I clutched the sheet around my breasts and looked around the room. It was warm and beautiful... And spacious. There was a window to my left. A huge window, showing a heavenly scenery of bright blue sky meeting dark green waters. The sun was glowing golden and the gusts of wind that rushed into the room were warm. There was the smell of salt in the air and the noise of waves crashing by the seashore. I recalled what happened to me when I was last conscious and anger hardened my eyes. My teeth ground together. I came out of the bed while holding the sheet around me.

Or maybe… saying goodbye. Then, with a whisper, it sealed shut behind us. I breathed out steady, something in my chest seemed to break a little. I turned to look back to see the barrier close once again after we passed through. I was shocked when a stray tear left my eye. !! !! !! !! !! !! The journey across the sea took nearly two days. The waters were moody. Gray, brooding and sickness inducing. Waves rose like claws and curled back with low, guttural growls that sounded too alive. The sky remained overcast.

The sand stretches out endlessly, soft and pale under the faint light, and the salty tang of the ocean wafts into the car through the cracked window, sharp and clean. “A beach!” I exclaim, my voice ringing out as I press my face against the cool glass. My breath fogs the window slightly, but I can’t tear my gaze away. “You brought me to a beach!” The words escape in a giddy shout, filled with a mixture of disbelief and joy.

“Mandy, don’t force me to say it.” “Then I’d rather just die right now!” Mandy rushed to the window, pretending she was about to jump. “Anyway, no one in this world loves me!” “Mandy, what are you doing? Get down, now!” Sean panicked. “I won’t,” she said, biting her lip, tears filling her eyes. “Since you don’t love me, there’s no point in my living.” As she said that, half of her body leaned out the window. Sean’s heart dropped. He lunged forward and pulled Mandy back into his arms.

Chapter 3- A Perfect Day Drrrrr! Crash! Bang! Melo was awoken by crashing and banging happening outside his room. What kind of ruckus is happening? He thought to himself. He slightly opened his eyes but all he saw were the lights peeking through his window blinds, beaming across the room. He scooted to the other side of the bed, facing his big glass window that is covered with white blinds. Then, he slipped two of his fingers in between the blinds and allowed just the right amount of light to pass through.

“We are pinned.” Raiken kicked the rear window. It cracked but did not break. Outside, the sea churned around us. The headlights flickered. A face appeared in the glass. Pale skin. Red eyes. I screamed. It vanished. Raiken struck the window again. Blue light spread through the cracks. The glass burst outward. Water exploded inside. Cold closed over my head. Raiken’s hand locked around mine. We escaped through the broken window. The current seized us immediately. I kicked toward the surface, but the road had disappeared beneath several metres of water. Cars drifted below us like abandoned toys.
