I looked at Sienna. She looked terrified. I looked back at Raven. "You didn't?" Raven hesitated. Just slightly. Enough. I stepped closer. "You know what your problem is?" Raven stayed quiet. "You think monsters look a certain way." The room was silent. I could hear Sienna breathing. I looked directly into Raven's eyes. "You want me to be angry." Raven's hand tightened around her phone. "You want me to confess." I smiled. "But you don't understand something."

Dominic caught the scent of my sudden fear instantly, a dark, mocking smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “You’re scared of me,” he murmured, his voice a dangerously quiet, gravelly purr that vibrated across the dead space between us. He leaned forward slightly over the body, bringing his sharp, chiseled features into my field of vision. “Good. If last night wasn’t clear enough for you in my chambers… now you know why they call me the Monster Alpha King. Now you know exactly what happens when someone betrays me or alters my protocols.”

This made Josh just mad. And so, with force he ripped off the tape from his mouth. It made the Monster gasp in pain. ‘Please,’ the Monster begged. Josh back handed him. ‘How pathetic can you be?’ He demanded while grabbing a bunch of his hair and pulling it backwards.

Tiff gasped as she said. "What's going on Tiff? I was with her and I was going to take her there but she got off..." "Is it in the grocery store? Oh! God! Please check on her!" Before Luke could finish what he had to say, Tiff suddenly answered on the other line. "How did you know?" his boss asked Tiff in shock. "It's a long story Sir, I came there earlier, and the monsters were there but I escaped. I'm here at the apartment packing to be ready for our move."

Busted. I stared at my phone, suddenly wondering if I had gone too far. He looked… annoyed. Just as I hesitated, a new message popped up from Liam. It was a sticker—a cartoon puppy in a yellow hat, eagerly nodding over a water bowl, and above its head were two bold words: "Mm-hmm!" I froze. A bold thought suddenly struck me— was Liam seriously searching for a cute sticker to send me just now? The very next message confirmed my suspicion.

“You think you can just slide into his space, take what belongs to the Chika Whitmore line, and play the loyal pet?” Driscoll’s voice was a low growl, vibrating with pure werewolf malice as he cornered Malik Arden by the heavy oak doors. “That seat was reserved for the true mate of the Dominion’s heir, not a scavenging stray looking for scraps from Lucien’s plate.”

I backed away a step, and the wide grin on his face slipped slightly. “I just didn't want you to think that there was something going on there.” He motioned to Cyber’s snoring form. “There isn’t. I’m Monster by the way. Cyber’s brother.” He didn't hold out his hand for me to shake, he just waited and watched me with his baby blue eyes.

Their eyes met, and finally the silence broke between them. "What is it you want to say?" Mark asked gently, his gaze sincere, making Julie swallow hard as she remembered her current situation—single, with her partner in prison. If Liam truly was the perpetrator, then there was no hope for her future with him. The look that Mark had, which was directed at Julie, immediately made the girl forget that she promised Liam to fix everything. "Elizah keeps screaming hysterically whenever she hears or mentions the word 'monsters.' I take it that 'monsters' is plural, meaning more than one person committed this crime against her," Julie said, her voice calmer than before.
