I pushed the door the rest of the way open. And froze. My mom and dad were in the living room—tied to two chairs, duct tape over their mouths. My mom’s eyes went wide when she saw me, muffled screams breaking through the tape. Cameron grabbed my arm, his whole body tense. “Bran, stay back—” A slow, mocking clap cut him off. “Well,” a voice drawled from the corner, “you made good time.” Drake stepped out of the shadows, wearing that same smug grin that made my skin crawl. His hair was slicked back, his sleeves rolled up, and in his hand was a small silver knife—nothing big, but sharp enough to make my stomach twist.

After drinking a glass of wine, Drake put down his glass and said, “Mr. Mayo, you may not know me, but you really helped me a lot. What I did today was just to return your kindness.” Kindness? Where did this start? Thomas said, “But we’ve never met before, right? What ‘kindness’ do you speak of?” Drake laughed. “Mr. Mayo, let me clarify it. My first name is Drake, and my surname is Laine.” Laine? Thomas frowned slightly, recalling whether anyone he knew had this surname. Suddenly, he remembered. “Could it be that Kevin Laine, the hospital director of Pharmaceutical University, is your…” Drake laughed. “Yes, he is my father!”

They were staring at Tristan who was busy talking to his sister. I clenched my fingers around the stem of my wine glass, forcing myself to stay calm. Theo threw a piece of the shirt at her. It wasn’t particularly her shirt, she sensed. Running her fingers over the silk, she could feel it. Bringing it closer to her eyes, she realized it was a black shirt. “Wear it,” Theo muttered, reaching for a leather electric shock collar. He sighed, watching her as she pulled on the shirt. He walked toward her and pulled her neck close. Fastening the collar around her neck, he said, “Drake has a dragon tattoo on the left side of his neck. Short curly hair. Black-framed specs. Dark brown eyes.”

It's his usual day routine to spend on. ‎ ‎ ‎Drake, Lander and Timothy are one of his college friends. They were on the business course and same section during college days' so they were always together. Drake got married to Mavie after four years of dating. And now they will have a baby a few months from now. While Lander and Timothy are still single. ‎ ‎ ‎Him? he's single since he failed his marriage two years ago. ‎ ‎ ‎He met Roxanne, one of Mavies's friends during college.

Drake asked and which made them to chuckle. “Just kidding, Mister Drake Grey.” Connor replied, and I can't stop myself to smile because of them. I'm enjoying when Drake's friends are here. The reaction from their faces are priceless, specially when Drake started to threaten them. They are not scared of Drake, and they were not scared to mock him. I'm aware that they know him a lot, and I was so happy because they were Drake's friends. They knew him a lot and the way he treated his friends, they're getting used to it.
