"Preparation?" "Heat the silverleaf and moonstone together first," Ashford said. "Low flame. Then add the winterbloom. Let it simmer until it turns pale blue. Remove from heat, add the blood, stir counterclockwise three times." I committed every word to memory. "It won't work," Ashford said, his voice hollow. "It's been too long." "Maybe," I said. "But I'm going to try anyway." I turned and left the cell without another word.

her attempt to change the subject and played along with her. Silver gave April the simpler tasks. To clean the herbs, boil some of them. Others she had to cut them into fine pieces. The most difficult task she performed was probably Squeezing the sap out of the stem of a plant known as the bloodstem. Like the name suggested its stem produced a sap, thick and red like blood. It was the most important ingredient necessary to produce a potion to heal bones. And then Silver began to grind the herbs, mix them, and let them heat in that beaker. He added more herbs to the mix as he turned up the heat.

“Let us see how this one goes.” Taking the black rose and holding it in her left hand, she looks at the other six she draws a pentagram of a gate in the air. Using a blood crystal embedded on her fingernails that directly draws her own blood like the ink inside a writing pen. It glows into a neon light of red as the six roses of white, yellow, violet, red, blue, and green gently float from its center and in the pattern of the six-pointed inverted star. “From air to fire, water to stone, join together and burn to the bone."

Why could they possibly want my blood? Oh Goddess, am I being ritually sacrificed? My mind raced as I watched my blood drip down to the ground into the crevice before me. As he held my hand and kept squeezing to keep the blood flowing, Crystalla crouched down and started to wave her right hand back and forth over the crevice. Within seconds of her doing this, the crevice filled with a black liquid and mixed with my blood to form a stream. The stream flowed through the circular crevice and began to fill up the inner circle that surrounded me.

remembering its encounter. "Please get her in the car first and turn off the aircon." "Okay," he hurriedly opened the car. Upon entering, Blade immediately took his handkerchief and wiped the seeds and juice of the tomato and egg on Crystal's face because he noticed that it was not moving and the body seemed to stiffen and was just stunned by the absence. He lightly presented it to her and then gently wiped its face. "I told you, you shouldn't expose yourself to the-" Blade couldn't continue what he was going to say when he noticed that Crystal was quietly crying. No voice came out of her lips but her tears just kept flowing.

Goliath took one of the smaller ones, and a random stone before returning with the group. "Bloodwood is hard to harvest. It is only possible to do it if you use appropriate Golems. The wood you're going to use will suffice for only two tries for each one. The crystals are extracted from the mine in the south of the village, near the acid swamp. If you need to collect more, feel free to do so, but the village will collect 25% of all of your yield. Pay attention, and Don't waste resources." Goliath's voice sounded cold and a bit harsh, but the critters only stared at him.

Her shoulders were still tense, but her breathing stayed even, and the frost did not leap beyond the boundary she had made. The chamber lights reflected off the ice in a soft shimmer. Kayo’s expression shifted into something pleased. “There it is.” Remy gave a low whistle. “That’s actually pretty.” Cassandra looked overwhelmed by that statement, as if nobody had ever told her her power could be pretty before. Celeste noticed. Of course she did. “Now,” Celeste said, “we test the defensive bloom.” She gestured to one of the training crystals set into the far side of the ward ring. Rowan activated it with a quick touch, and a dull red glow appeared in the center of the crystal’s surface.
