"These shares represent all of my holdings in the company. I'm giving them all to you. Will you accept them?"
Nolan looked at me with hopeful eyes. It was almost as if he was waiting for me to forgive him, embrace him happily, and overlook everything he had done to me over the past three years of our marriage.
"No."
The smile on Nolan's face instantly fell when he heard my response, and his grip on my hand tightened.
"Tell me, what can I do for you to forgive me?"
"Fire Ruby," I said without any hesitation.
In truth, I wasn't bothered about Nolan's shares or his money. Also, asking him to fire Ruby—it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing.
