More Than A Gesture
As I wheeled my suitcase out of the arrivals gate, she stood there, waving like nothing had ever happened, like we hadn’t already burned the bridge between us.
“You’re finally back from your business trip! I missed you so much!”
Before I could react, she threw herself into my arms.
Her voice rang out loud and clear, drawing curious glances from every direction.
In an instant, all eyes were on me—most of them filled with envy.
I quickly pulled her out of my arms and frowned.
“I haven’t even disinfected yet. Aren’t you disgusted by me?” I asked.
Violet’s smile froze on her face for a second, then her tone softened as she replied, “You’re my husband. Why would I ever find you dirty?”
