I was 23 and Toby was 24 in this story. I’d arrived at the summer camp in Canada with excitement in my veins. Ditching my shit job for a summer of fun is just what I needed. I was going to be a camp counsellor along with a load of other young people. One guy, Toby, kinda stood out, he was from Michigan, and he’d played lacrosse in high school. He was handsome in a slightly goofy way. He has bushy brown hair and he was tall, athletic.

“You do important work.” “So do you.” He reached over to trace the line of her jaw. “You make things beautiful.” She caught his hand and kissed his palm before something occurred to her. “You never told me how you learned to tattoo.” Tobi was silent for a moment before answering. “I apprenticed under an old biker named Mack when I was seventeen. My father had just... well.” He shook his head as if dispelling memories. “I was living on friends’ couches, getting into trouble. Mack found me trying to steal from his shop.”

"Oh? It's interesting. Already, I didn't like his tone. "Don't begin," Darian cautioned. Innocently, Toby raised his hands. "I'm not going to start anything." then turned back to face me right away. "You really came from Taryn Reed, then?" I tensed up a little. "Yes." He gave a low whistle. "That man is a complete mess." I blinked. "Yes." Toby nodded as if we were in agreement about the weather. "I hope you get over that." I frowned. "Healing?" Darian looked at him.

There was a loud gunshot, and Lucas' life was brought to a short, tragic end. Now that Lucas was gone, nobody could control Toby at home anymore, and both Michelle and Wesley were at their wits' end. They wouldn't stop yelling and beating Toby every day, wanting nothing more than for him to go to hell. Finally, one night, Toby couldn't stand it anymore and screamed, "You have no right to tell me what to do! You're not even related to me anyway!" "What… What did you just say?" Michelle asked, stunned. "Lucas is not even my daddy!" Toby screamed. "Mommy told me that my real daddy is a millionaire! He's filthy rich, unlike your son! He's a hundred times better than Lucas!

All that mattered was— “I am serious, guys. We have more pressing issues than you devouring each other.” I hated that voice. I hated that person. Whoever was interrupting my way to heaven, I hated them. “If you guys do not stop, I will call the paparazzi.” Lily immediately pulled back, and I almost cried. I turned to glare at Toby, who was sitting on my chair, swinging from side to side. People usually thought Toby was nice and quiet, but only I knew who he really was. He was a bloodsucking demon who had no respect for me.

Lyric could see a helicopter parked within the clearing, but its blades were still. “I’ve done well for myself,” Toby continued. “But this… This thing now. It’s fucked up. I’m not… I’m not sure what to do,” he admitted heavily. “I am not sure whether I can just keep doing things which I find…” He shook his head, struggling for words as he pulled the car to a stop at a gate. “We need to open the gate,” he added reaching for the handle. “Niarthen,” Lyric glanced over her shoulder at the merman. “Could you?”

“I… It's not Ashton’s fault. I came he—” Riktor gestured for him to stop talking. “Not bad.” He uttered while observing the place. Then his sight landed on Toby, who looked like he had stopped breathing. “Tobias, you need to relax. You look like you're about to pass out. I'm not going to hurt you kid." He stated. Toby heaves a sigh of relief. "Or at least not yet," Riktor added. He saw Toby's face tensed. "I'm joking." He said, then laughed maniacally.

Toby looked down at me with a huge grin on his face. “This was a lot easier than I thought,” he mused. “No matter. Any last words?” he asked, a cruel smile on his face. “Nope,” I said, ducking and covering my head. Toby looked at me with confusion. Something alerted him and he turned. With a roar, Griz drove the spear that was once impaled in his body into Toby’s. Then he fell to his knees and toppled onto his face. Toby screamed out in fury. Griz was so weak and he had used most of his remaining strength to make it down the hallway. The spear didn’t penetrate far, but it had done two things.

Vincenzo dragged a look from my head to my feet before giving a short nod to one of the men standing beside me and then, the weirdly huge one showed me a familiar photo in his phone. “Toby..” I gasped out loud. It was a photo of Toby on his motorcycle. Why did they have his photo!? “Ah yes, Tobias Shaw but in the casino we know him as Yoyo.” One of the men with Vincenzo said. “He stole a hundred thousand dollars from me.” Vincenzo spoke, drawing my attention back to him. His face was dark and unforgiving and I instantly regretted the day I met Toby. Why would anyone in their right mind steal from the feared Vincenzo and such a huge amount too!?

Tate turned to Toby and uttered, “You’re my Gamma, minister. You’re bound to stand with your Alpha.” Toby smirked as everyone started chuckling and he rebutted, “Unless you stand against the queen, in which case, you’re on your own. The most humiliating thing to have written on my tombstone would be ‘slaughtered by a five feet creature’.” Christian snorted and started chuckling, so did Weaver. For some reason, Xandar had the urge to correct Toby, “Lucy is actually five-foot three after being marked, Toby.” This made Christian laugh even louder.
