“Give that to me, Archer.” I hold my hand out, gesturing for him to hand it over and he pouts, slowly placing the old picture of his father in my palm. I crouch down so that I'm eye to eye with him and I smile at him. “One day, okay?” I murmur, holding out my pinky and he nods his head, connecting both our pinky fingers in a silent promise, smiling widely at me. That one day, It might just be sooner than expected.

With his subordinates filled with despair and devoid of hope, he stepped forward, taking a leap of faith, hoping against hope that these humans hadn't decided to spare any of their kind. "We surrender!" he shouted, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and resignation. "We accept your surrender," Dray announced, his voice firm but not unkind. "But know this: you will be taken into custody and brought before our leaders for judgment. Your fate will be decided by them."

Right at that moment, I knew he was about to surrender. However, "surrender" wasn't the right term to describe it. "Letting go" was the word that perfectly fit the scenario.
